1) Love sloppy playing and praise it at every opportunity; 2) Hate Mick Taylor never suggest they were better with him; 3) Refer to the Stones hits as War Horses, because you heard that was what they were going to call 40 licks; 4) Refer to the Stones as the boys, because that is what Keith calls the others; 5) Mention how much you like weaving or the ancient art of weaving; 6) Quote a lyric or something said in an interview at the end of the post; 7) Be sure to hide the fact you never saw the Stones before Woddy was in; 8) Praise Keith's drunken behavior; 9) Act like a tool.

and rightfully so, considering those years comprised 12.5% of their entire existence. Ahh....I know your response already...but what percent of their greatest songs? This one is rhetorical, but have at it.

Please do, and while you're at it put the great Dirty Work album on to get you to sleep.....
1) I prefer Good boots over pathetic live releases any day. 2) MT yaers are some of my favorite and try to collect every show. 3) War horses are what they are, They play to 50,000 and have to include them 4) like talking about an old high school teamate. 5) Ive heard it sinse the 81 tour and it gets old. 6) Dont have one but there are some that are great. 7) 1st concert was 10-4-81 and didnt care that MT wasnt in the band 8) I would like to have some drinks with the guy, interesting! 9) never have, never will 10)Just liking the the music of the greatest Rock and Roll Band in the world and ALL of their fans!
There is some resistance to admitting the Taylor era is the best even if it is blatantly obvious. I love Taylor and i love Brian Jones. I wish Brian's contribution was recognised a bit more. The Stones recorded some superb songs which he made vital contibutions to. Maybe the Stones were a little less sophisicated and consistent in Brian's day but it sure beats the post Taylor output.
Brian Jones years are rarely mentioned and definately under-rated. I guess these years were the launch-pad for the Stones, and from 1968 onwards the band started to unleash their talents (songwriting & performance) beyond....
rule no. 11; you must not, never ever, critizise the policy of w.bush and his goons. That would out you as a whiny boneless thankless (if you're european) son of a xxx and mother...ing xxxhead.
Ron Wood can you play Taylor's blistering slide on All Down The Line Ron Wood can you play Taylor's torching guitar line on Shine A Light Ron Wood can you play Taylor's outro slide solo on Sway Ron Wood can you play Taylor's melodic wonderment on Winter Ron Wood can you PLAY
Its sucks the stones can,t play any of these songs except for All Down The line and Woody's bad attempt on Shine a Light from Amerstdam.

Well you made a post about liking the stones into another Taylor/Wood discussion. It's true Taylor is a better solo guitarist then Woody but could Taylor interact with Keith like Woody did in '78 and '81/'82. Not he couldn't! The stones wouldn't survived the late seventies and early eighties if Taylor was still in the band! There are a lot more guitarist out there who play like Taylor listen to Clapton or even Mathijs with Flip the Switch. But there aren't many people who can play together like Keith and Ronnie did. Listen to Handsome girls or Hampton '81. That's pure magic!!!!

Bassplayer,
Ah don' wanna talk to you no more, you empty-headed animal food-trough wiper! Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!
You may like your mother or your father or girls or boys or Ronnie or Mick T or anyone you like as long as you act as a normal civilized person, i.e. you do not offend. The moment you start offending then you are out. Same happens in a bar. If you start offending somebody something happens. That is life. I will not tolerate "bar fighs" here. IORR is not a zoo. Common reasons for fights, like talking about the recent wars and hating people is not welcome. Too many people, too many cultures, to many language problems, too many people who talk before they think. And too many who think they are better than others. Who are? Name one. I would guess most people who think the rules on IORR are strict may have some problems in a bar if they drink heavily and talk after 2am in the morning. But I may be wrong...
