The last song on the recording and of the show proper is SFM and its ending is clipped. That might provide a clue.

The last song of the show was Midnight Rambler, not SFM. It's not on the tape though.

The last song of the "show proper" was SFM. MR was played as an encore. I was there. From the fact that on the recording SFM is clipped I deduce the taper ran out of tape. That is my guess why MR is missing. An alternative explanation could be the taper was not expecting an encore.
