OT : Who's gonna see Queen and Paul Rodgers ?

Queen will be made of Brian May and Roger Taylor

John Deacon is not willing to be involved and will be replaced by Jamie Moses
He played with a lot of people from Anastacia to Jimmy Cliff, including Beyonce, Johnny Clegg, Mike & The Mechanics, Cozy Powell, The Pretenders, Lionel Ritchie,
Paul Rodgers etc..

The dates are announced mainly in Europe, but a US and most likely japanese tour will follow later this year.

This is perhaps one of the stupidest things I've heard in the world of music and our rock heroes. Not that Queen is one one my faves (never cared for them) but I know they have a lot of admirers out there. To go out on the road and pass off themselves as Queen with no Freddie is assinine and John Deacon at least has the good sense to say no way. Tour, play some gigs, make some dough, but don't call yourselves Queen. Can anyone say "Doors of The Twentieth Century"?

Quuens appeal largely escapes me.

I have a lot of respect for Page and Plant who could easily have gone on tour as Led Zep but decided that Led Zep are no more.

I think it`s all to do with money and public perception.......
May, Taylor and Rodgers doesn`t have the appeal of QUEEN with Paul Rodgers.
In the UK I know Arena TX sold out very quickly.
As for the show.....I`m sure it`ll be well put together but it won`t be Queen.

Freddie Mercury was the real star of Queen.
Without him will be just a big let down no matter how good Brian May plays his guitar.
Once you have seen the real thing with Freddie Mercury immitators are pale in significance .

I would see them. If they were playing on the deck in my back yard. Before I called the cops to have them removed.

On one hand it would be like Keith and Charlie going out as the Stones with Chris Farlowe on vocals.

On the other hand I saw THe Doors 21st Century a couple of years ago. It was a shame John Densmore dropped out becasue it was great and they played for 2 3/4 hours.

I loathe Queen any way but thnik this is brand exploitation.
