OK, some of you will say "who cares?", but this is the only part of today's Super Bowl I'm interested in watching. "Let It Be" is a given, but what else? I think it would be cool if Paul did a tribute to John & George by doing snippets of "Imagine" and "My Sweet Lord", but that may be considered too cheesy by some. So, what will be get--a 15-minute condensed "greatest hits"?
I'm sure he'll play Hey Jude and divide the crowd up and have them singing Na Na Na Na, Hey Jude! Seems he does this every concert. Probably end up doing a medley of his greatest hits.
It's only 12 minutes he's allowed to play. So I'm thinking a shortened version of Hey Jude and a new track (He's in the studio at the moment), one from Wings (Hopefully Live And Let Die) and if I'm lucky: Helter Skelter. I bet this is gonna kick ass. Macca is great.....
Macca is mostly Beatles Lite. I miss John -now that woulda rocked, and no doubt been controversial too. Sure he'd have something interesting to say......................
1. Drive My Car 2. Get Back 3. Live And Let (lots of fireworks) 4. Hey Jude
He will get out of his black jacket after Get Back, but overall his wardrobe will function. Remember Micks HBO MSG show lame trouser joke? That one would have worked well at the Superbowl!
Still about half an hour to wait. I thought I could enjoy the game, but football is such a horrible boring game. Never saw a game before. They crash into each other and then there is a break until the next crash, then they run over each other again and again. I don´t see any real game, but as long as americans enjoy it...

It's indeed a bit boring. I enjoyed watching the six nations rugby tournement this weekend a lot more.
Well he put on a good show but mainly because of good songs and great fireworks. But the problem is that Paul Mc Cartney looks SO SILLY! He writes and sings fantastic songs but he just looks stupid there on stage. He isn't a cool performer but a silly dweep with a silly bassguitar around his neck.
Cheers, Wuudy

I just saw it too (And recorded it on VHS ) I think it absolutely rocked as hell. Very good show indeed. The Danish commentators were singing Hey Jude when the halftime show was over. REALLY good in my opinion.
I like american football and I'm quite enjoyng the game; Macca's performance was good, especially "Live And Let Die" and "Hey Jude". I loved the lights flashing and the lighters raised by the audience on the latter. Paul looked in good shape, and his band really rocks. He may look silly on stage, but he's got his unique style! I hope I can see him live sometime!

Live and Let Die has been played the same way (fireworks and laser lights) since '76.
As for his Hoffner Violin Bass guitar, whay would you say that's worth on the open merket? I read where Alvin Lee's original (big red) Gibson is worth $500,000 on the open market.
Well he did pull out a few rockers, I'll give him credit for that, but didn't seem much aware of any possible irony in playing Love and Let Die stateside right now, unless i missed something.
Macca looked and played wonderfully. It's a shame more Stones fans can't get behind this other living legend. I'm really looking forward to seeing him on tour this year.
I liked the fireworks during LALD but the rest I think, was lame, he still has a good voice, but I think his performance was a bit boring actually. NOthing wrong musically though
