I always thought Charlie's drumming on "Dandelion" was one of his best as well.

Not a Stones track, but I do enjoy hearing everyone in the room flying along to Charlie's ceilidh-swing beat on The Rocky Road To Dublin.

Rob

Those fills at the end are outstanding.
One of my favourites as well.

Can't You Hear Me Knocking & Slave would be a good additions to the list as well.
I also have a weakness for the snare hits on If You Can't Rock Me
(Among many others, naturally)

How could you not include Moonlight Mile and Monkey Man???? POlus I love his drumming on Midnight Rambler, Shattered, Rocks Off and Dandelion. Most of hos drumming is understated and not the focal point of the song which is why I like his drumming so much.

We Love You, All Sold Out, 2000 Light Years...

I just realized that Charlie started sounding like "Charlie" right around the time Keith developed into "Keith". History says it's JJF/Beggars but the seeds were sewn in Button and accelerated through '67.

Oh, and he swings like a mofo on Down The Road Apiece and Neighbors.

Hand Of Fate, particularly the way the rhythm is altered during the variations, like at 2:38 when he is pedaling the high hat and again at 3:19 when it sounds like he is hitting the high hat with both sticks, and also the way his fills seem to lead the way to the next hook, the next line of lyrics. This song is an example of when Charlie was still being inventive with his drumming, and his playing here really adds something to this track, giving it that fully integrated Stones touch--something that has been missing in his rote, overly compressed bashing approach from recent years. It would be great if they could revive this one and add this one to the set list for the upcoming shows.

From Paris Pavilion, 6 June 1976.

From El Mocambo Tavern, Toronto, 4-5 March 1977

From Earl's Court, London, May 1976.

From Four Flicks, 2000s.
