"Exile has slide on each and every track"

Really? To me "slide" means bottleneck. Not just sliding up and down on chords during the course of a song. Songs like sweet Virginia, tumbling dice, happy, loving cup etc etc aren't "slide" songs as I would see it

All the lead parts in Happy are done with a slide.

The rhythm as well - at least half of the chords smiling smiley

Some other ones:

Hey Negrita (Ronnie)
Till The Next Goodbye (Keith)
Short And Curlies (Taylor)
Before They Make Me Run (Ronnie - could be pedal steel, though)
Fight (Keith)
You Got Me Rocking (Ronnie)
Out Of Tears (Ronnie)
Blinded By Rainbows (Ronnie)
Sweethearts Together (Ronnie)
The Storm (Ronnie)
Rough Justice (Ronnie)
Let Me Down Slow (Ronnie)

We should make separate lists: Slide, dobro and pedal steel tracks!
Going back into the achive of this forum, there is so much to learn, but the threads always seems to disapear. This one could be a keeper.

I don't think it will make your final list, but Keith plays some slide on Juiced, and from the same album, Ronnie on over me

What is Brian playing on the opening riff, then - a tremolo out of control?

It's probably Keith playing the motif with Brian supplying chuck berry rhythm beneath. Same guitar plays motif and solo.

Yeah it's an effect possibly with some whammy too, the same effect is present in the guitar solo which features string bends and all. Same guitar plays motif and solo.

Sure sounds like slide to me. It starts off with notes played with his fingers, and then the slide. The solo is played without slide, and then moves into the motif again with slide. Does that even make sense? Haha :-)

I tried reasoning with these people, but they are not open to it. I'm gonna let this whole thing just slide now...

Makes sense, but it's not what happens on the record.

The guitar is tuned to standard, to be able to play the high D chord with slide would require the guitar to be tuned to open D. The solo is non slide and features string bends etc.

Note the wobble is present even on the open D string. Some kind of subtle pitch modulation/vibrato effect is engaged.

On the record the guitars are in standard tuning, one plays Chuck Berry rhythm with clean sound.

This the essence of the main motif in standard tuning.
