Sounds interesting.

Hope it does not turn out as another Superheavy.

Looks like Ringo's got his All-Star Band set for 2013!

That is quite the ensemble. Hopefully some details will be forthcoming shortly.

He is focusing on The Stones--as a performing entity. But for new directions and creative challenges, he is obviously in favor of looking elsewhere. He is more effective creatively when he can bounce his ideas off of others, and in The Stones that is no longer possible.

Seems these LA sessions are for a Joe Walsh project. He talked about it a few months back in an interview for his current album, 'Analog Man':

Go! What’s next for your solo career?

JW: It won’t be 20 years until the next one. I want to do a blues album with a lot of blues people, like Bonnie Raitt and Doctor John, Keb Mo and John Mayer. I’ve been thinking about doing that. And I want to do another solo project. I’m already working on it.

That's exactly what I thought. But what I really think is that Mick will sing on 1 or maybe 2 songs. Let's just wait and see what happens.

From Tal Wilkenfeld:

Thursdays in the office are usually pretty mellow. Like today... when I wrote a song with Bill Withers, Mick Jagger, Keb Mo & Joe Walsh. LOL

Looks like Mick's name is replacing someone else on the original lineup - his piece of tape has been added.

This is a scary mix of musicians. Mick and Ringo with Walsh.
It's turning into whiskey, toothpaste and peanut butter...but some might like that combo.

In 2008 Joe Walsh married Marjorie Bach, sister of Ringo's wife Barbara Bach.
So it's probably kind of a little family affair.

Why can't Mick just get Keith, Charlie, Bill and Ron in a room with some bean bags, a toy drum kit and a cassette recorder?

Mick wouldn't dare copy Keith's ideas...

It's easy.

Just do it.

No toy drum kit on that and yah still need proper studio stuff for anything more than the basic sparse cassette recording. tongue sticking out smiley

Cooking up something here at Capitol Records! I think you'll like it.

Mick is a small guy and Tal is even smaller.
Nothing wrong with that as I quite like petite women.
She is such a talent and would love to see her as a guest with The Rolling Stones. >grinning smiley<

If it's gotten this bad then I hope these coming shows are it once and for all. To continue as a live act and ignore making new music is an embarrassment.

The more I think about Mick dinking around in a studio with anyone but the Stones the angrier I become! Just the thought of it raises my blood pressure! There will be plenty of time when the Stones are finished for sessions like this!

Yeah, i dont agree.
Jagger could work on songs with Charlie and Ronnie. and.. they have zillions of songs that they can dig up from the vaults.
Jagger apparently wants too boost his ego, but he sure aint no blues man. If Joe walsh wants a bluesman.he should ask BB, or Buddy guy.

He knows working with the Stones on new/old songs/albums is only possible up to a certain level. His remaining energy goes elsewhere. For the Stones that means: he keeps a keen eye on their possible future, plans (because he likes to perform) this small tour etc.
For new directions and creative challenges he goes shopping to stay satisfied.
And he (and stonehearted) knows "He is more effective creatively when he can bounce his ideas off of others, and in The Stones that is no longer possible."

And don't worry. He has one hand in the vaults.
But it has nothing to do with wanting to boost his ego...

If that was my concern it would take me 100 hours a week on this forum only!
And since you are probably more satisfied with gossip: I'm his boyfriend!
