Today Tina Turner was on Oprah. Singing backup was Lisa Fisher. At least she is still getting work with Tina. Tina did say once after her last tour, (refering to Lisa): "She's mine now, Mick."

I did notice that Lisa has gained more weight. She better start getting in shape, >>>the arms especially. Oprah had to invite Lisa downstage, she was hangin' back a bit????

I was really young, not a teen yet, but I remember when Tina and Ike were playing in East St. Louis and St. Louis. My Dad worked in East St. Louis and he knew someone who worked at a radio station in St. Louis and I'd get the 45 records the Dee Jay didn't want anymore. Oh, the perks of a car salesman

I thought Tina already did a "farewell" tour. I think Cher's farewell tour is now into it's fourth calendar year! It's ironic how all these other artists announce farewell tours, yet it's the Stones that always get asked if their current tour will be their last, despite the fact that they never announce anything to that effect.

Oprah talked Tina into a nice Concert in NYC, Tina said she was already thinkin' about it.

I never thought Tina was much of a singer post '71 or so - I hate her solo stuff. The Sue/Kent/UA etc stuff w/ Ike was very cool, but in a more (solo) pop context the lack of interpretive nuance makes all her stuff sound bombastic. I don't care what Lisa looks like, she sings well - and I recall the fantastic Sara Dash was no sex kitten on Keith's solo tours - & she added a lot.

to agree that I like Tinas early stuff best.
