Come On
I can't decide if Eric's solo on 'Still got the blues' is better than Gary's or not.....Well, it is Clapton we're talkin here so his must be the better I guess...
Nice album for all Clapton-fans...Thanks for posting it!
I must add also that Eric has never sung better than on this album...

When was the last time rock'n'roll had an earth-shattering record? 1973, maybe?

How about Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell in '79?

What he did to Peter Tosh's "well runs dry" is pretty awful and the rest of the album is very much is big store listening.

Please folks, there are still amazing records out there...This assertion that the last earth-shattering record came out in 1973 is rather unfounded. Yankee Foxtrot Hotel, High Violet, Before the Frost..., Ok Computer, Funeral...etc...ALl excellent records, in no sense inferior than anything that had come before

His live albums, of late, have been excellent, i.e. Live @ Madison Square Garden with Steve Winwood, the Cream reunion, and the gig with Wynton Marsalis. Studio-wise, Clapton was a good(ish) album, but Back Home was horrendous.

Back Home had maybe a couple of redeemers on it, but yeah,it was the lowpoint of his past couple decades.

The George Harrison cover was excellent, Love Comes to Every One, but then Clapton played on the original from 1979. I like Reptile, and also think Pilgrim is an underrated album. However, Behind The Sun and August are, quite possibly, Clapton's worst ever albums.

I guess Nevermind The Bullocks and London Calling aren't in the running. I mean, without that Sex Pistols album, Some Girls would have sounded like Black and Blue Part 2.
