Keith keep saying that Flip The Switch is fastest, but is it really? I don't think so. Both songs mentioned above are faster

I always thought there was a fight between Rip This Joint and A Wild and Untamed Thing (ROcky Horror).

I always thought these two songs were written to be the most uptempo songs going.

Buy their version of Let Me Go is close

I don't know about Flip the switch, but Turd on the run is faster than rip this joint:

Rip this joint, 1/4 note = 195
Turd on the run, 1/4 note = 238

Rip This Joint, performance wise, it takes a lot of energy to perform this song.

Mick, Bette Midler, etc.

Hold on to Your Hat comes to mind and for once I agree with the Demonic one regarding Rip This Joint! Will wonders never cease?

Yeah, this one almost sounds like the tape was sped up, but the Stones don't do that, do they? This is why many other bands' tracks are a quarter- or half-step out of standard tuning. (Guns N' Roses "Appetite for Destruction", for example.)

She said Yeah is THE fastest followed by Flip the switch then Joint. Maybe Keith means songs they wrote.

The guitar tempo on Dity Work is fast but the drums are not.

Whats the slowest song ? Cherry Oh Baby ?

Milo, NYC
Too much, much to much

I've heard that's why the Stones don't perform RIP THIS JOINT much, it takes a whole lotta energy!

It would make a great opener, but Mick would be half spent by the time it was over.

Unfortunately Mick's vocals lack the raw power to make Rip This Joint really effective these days. I have always thought Rip This joint was the fastest Stones song although Keith said it was Flip The Switch.
She Said Yeah and Turd On The Run are both incredibly fast also.

Take a gander at Bette Midler's version, you'll see what I mean by RIP THIS JOINT being a fast song. And on the Licks tour, Mick was sweatin' bullets after he did this one.

Well, on appetite all guitars are tuned half a step down on purpose. The tape was not sped up! Easier for Axl this way, I think.
