Blinded by the Light is the only credible one in that top ten, although 'Hold me closer Tony Danza' did make me laff.

What a totally lame B.S. manufactured piece of crap. Almost none of what they claim has any validity. Fake video pablum crap made by mush brains for consumption by mush brains.

I want my 6 minutes back!

The Yardbirds - For Your Love

Always thought that "I'd give you diamonds bright" sounded like "I'd give you Diet Sprite"

Life In The Bat Cave usually gets in those lists.

I misheard "as heads is tails, just call me Lucifer"
as "her Majesty just calls me Lucifer" in SFTD when I was a young'un.

The video was completely stupid. Most of those just seem like whoever made the video decided to make them up. There are actually songs that have lyrics that are misheard:

-Stuff like Blinded By The Light: "revved up like a douche"

-Elton John, Tiny Dancer: "hold me closer Tony Danza" (which is more funny than anything, but fits well in the lyrical spot)

-Jimi Hendrix, Purple Haze: "'scuse me, while I kiss this guy" (not something I ever heard until my friend asked me once if I knew "Jimi Hendrix was gay" and cited these lyrics)

I thought the REM one was funny.
But I groaned when I saw this was a 9 minute clip for 10 short examples. There was going to be a lot of unnecessary yapping.

I get high, as heard by Bob Dylan, instead of "I can't hide" from I want to hold your hand.

There's a bathroom on the right as opposed to there's a bad moon on the rise.

Also, and this is not a song: "Four candles and fork handles" by the Two Ronnies.

Look it up on youtube, and you'll love it.

I didn't realize so many deaf people listened to music. I have misheard many lyrics, but so many of these are ridiculous. I'll admit, on Paranoid I thought the misheard lyrics were the actual lyrics, but that's the only one.

Many are pretty clear to understand, like Losing My Religion, Dancing Queen, Africa, etc. Others, while the voice might not be so clear, such as on Bad Moon Rising (or the other lyric could possibly be hear like on the Paul Young song) common sense should fill in the blank.

Blinded by the light is very understandable, but even when I thought that's what he was saying, I figured it wasn't, as it just doesn't make sense.

As for Beast Of Burden (also Tiny Dancer and Bad Moon Rising) he's singing the title, so you'd have to be kind of dumb to think he's singing about pizza. Notice they didn't use the studio track, they used a live version, so I think they knew that "misheard" lyric was a stretch or they wouldn't have looked for live footage to corroborate it.

Most of these are very funny, but people would have to be pretty dumb to "mishear" them, I think it's more like people making up funny alternatives.

i actually have a take where jimi says "scuse me while i kiss this guy" and everyone starts laughing.

the black sabbath one is a very famous misheard lyric. the rest of this video seems pretty clear to me

The ones I knew were the last 5, minus the Stones one. They use a take in the video of Jimi saying Kiss This Guy. Never saw that he ever acknowledged the lyric mistake. Again though, I never heard or even though thats what he was saying till someone pointed it out to me after I had been hearing the song for 10 years.

I've heard Paranoid millions of times, and just never heard those lyrics. If Ozzy is refuting it, I guess its a common misconception. Thats one I figured I'd have heard of at this point but just never have. Seems reasonable, but I always clearly heard "enjoy" life.

Elton John's Rocket Man was always puzzling to my ears.

Perceived: And I think it's gonna be a long, long time ‘til touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the man they think I am at all

Rocket man, burnin' out he feels up here alone

Actual lyrics: And I think it's gonna be a long, long time ‘til touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the man they think I am at home....

Rocket man, burning out his fuse up here alone

A couple of Led Zeppelin's songs sounded more profound when I finally read the actual lyrics.

From Rock And Roll:

Perceived: It's been a long time since I talked of love
I can't get no tears in a life of no love
Carry my bag, carry my bag
carry my bag, baby where I come from.

Actual lyrics: It's been a long time since the book of love,
I can't count the tears of a life with no love
Carry me back, carry me back,
Carry me back, baby, where I come from.

Perceived: Been so long since I walked in the room, ayyyy!
Making out just couldn't work right.

Actual lyrics: Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight,
Making vows that just can't work right.

Also Ramble On:

Perceived: But god damn, that evil one, crept up and slipped away with her

Actual lyrics: But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her....yeah.

Plenty of Elton John on this thread, here's another from Bennie and the Jets:

She's got electric boobs

I blame Elton's poor enunciation of Bernie Taupin's lyrics, which, to be fair, are more conversational than lyrical:

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me:

Perceived: But these coats I have, they need love, to help and heal

Actual lyrics: But these cuts I have....

I always imagined him wearing expensive fur coats while recording this tune.

I think Fogerty has actually sung the 'wrong' lyrics

The whole Tony Danza thing came RIGHT from an episode of Friends. I doubt ANYONE out there has actually made that mistake.

LAME.

"Ruby Tuesday"

Until I much later read the lyrics, I always thought I heard Mick sing,
not "Who could hang a name on you",
but "Who could hang an aim on you",
