The first record was...hmmm let me think...it must have been the Bigger Bang-album. That was a long time ago now. I remeber these days. It was so special! I know it was a long time ago now but I can still remember the feeling when I first heard the first song Rough Justice!

Hehe, like you understand I wasn´t so serious. But Í started to listen to this wonderful band in 2005 so my first album was actually A bigger bang and i think it is a great album because I can listen to it and compare it to the old records without being partial and nostalgic.

By the way, when I think about it I bought 40 Licks the same day. So that was my two first stones-records.

The first Stones single I bought was Jumpin' Jack Flash. First Stones album I ever had was one my mom bought for me (must have found it in a clearance bin) Now, which I really hated because I thought they sounded like hillbillies. The first album of theirs that I bought was Between the Buttons, which turned me onto the Stones for life!

What a great story - thinking of all the negativity re "A Bigger Bang" it is very re-affirming that someone have actually gotten hooked on Stones via this album. I am a great fan of ABB too, but what a treat it must have been to be able to listen without prejudice about what a "real" Stones CD should sound like.

As for the thread, my first album with the Stones was "No Stone Unturned" - perhaps the strangest intro to The Stones - an album of b-sides in poor sound quality. I had been hooked for a while, though, and the bad quality only became apparent in retrospect.

12X5 in Jan of '65. It had been out for awhile. I remember listening to it and digging "Confessin' The Blues" and my poor sick grandmother turning me on to the original 78 by Jay Mcshann that she had bought back in the 40's. I remember Brian staring out from the cover, looking totally cool. Next came "Now", "Out of Our Heads" and "December's Children". The imports were too expensive. The fist import was "Aftermath', I still have that bad boy.

Beggars Banquet in 1983 (I'd just read Tony Sanchez' book and he had called it their greatest album). Shortly afterwards I bought Undercover which had just been released and Tattoo You. Did I "get" the Stones instantly? Only just, as I seriously preferred Love You Live over Get Yer Ya Yas Out in those days. But that was a looong time ago...

Older brother had:
Decembers Children
High Tides

I bought all the subsequent Stones albums after that...
more or less this order:

12 x 5
Got Live
Aftermath
Buttons
Flowers
Satanic
Beggars
Thru the Past Darkly
Bleed
Ya-Ya's
Sticky Fingers
Exile
etc.

Guess I didn't list 1 or 2

that's Hilarious! Hillbillies....I think Keith would be proud to hear you say that!

Man, thats a great album.

Mine was the single US 7" of Satisfaction.....with sleeve, June 1965....I was a late bloomer for the Stones....I was hooked on the mop tops until I heard this one....

Still love them both, but one thing I can agree with NObama, "....Stones..."

I won my copy of Exile from local radio station WIBG-AM by calling in first and correctly answering this question: "The song "She's A Rainbow" originally appeared on which Stones album". ((or was it WFIL-AM ? Correct answer was Their Satanic Majesties Request)

Other callers might have thought incorrectly Through The Past Darkly.
