Big Hits - High Tide and Green Grass. I must have been 12 or 13 - GULP! Anyway, "Get off of my cloud" still sounds as vibrant and exciting to me today as it did then, a mere 36 or 37 years ago!! Says it all really I suppose

Sorry for bringing this on top again, I was "KeithRichards" then and this thread started something very special for me. Besides, it is an interesting topic!

Some Girls, just after seeing the Stones live for the first time in July '78.

Hey, this thread is going back a bit! Notice Rockman's sig doesn't have the classic Keith pic on this thread?

Bravo - The Rolling Stones
A nice German compilation during their 65 tour.

It's been my first LP at all.

Made In The Shade when it was released...I was 13 yrs. old.

My older bro bought Sticky Fingers when it was released, I remember the album cover, but was too young to "get" the music.
Early Stones stuff was always around the house though - Satisfaction, etc., but things started to get darker and heavier for my young ears.
I was still into teeny bop stuff like the Jackson 5 at the time, their greatest hits was the first album I ever bought at 7 years old.thumbs up

edit: lol...just read through the thread, and looks like I already answered this on page 4...back in 2005!

Flowers was the first LP I bought back in 68. But Get off of my clouds was my first Stones record, changed with a pair of fotball boots.
A way to get records and other things was to change or buy together with friends when you was a schoolboy and to young to work.

As a teenager in the 60s I used to home-tape their songs from the radio, but the first record I actually bought, that brought me back to the Stones again after many years away, was The London Years in 1989 (on cassette tape - does this count as a "record"?)

After hearing "It's All Over Now" on the radio, while riding in the car with my dad, in 1964, I went the next day to one of our downtown record shops to look for Stones records.

I bought the only two singles that they had, "It's All Over Now," and "Tell Me." When "Satisfaction" came out much later, I had some friends saying things to me like "hey, listen to this brand new band called the Rolling Stones!" and I thought, "Please......."

Oddly enough, I went to same record shop when "Time Is On My Side" came out....in those days you could preview records in the store before you bought them...and didn't like it very much. Must have been my mood on that particular day, because I grew quite fond of it later.
