could you explain that statement? I would be even less than 2 months if the first show is on May 2nd as rumored. I know that less than 3 months actually is less than 2 months...but I don't think you wrote it without purpose.

Are they starting in May?

Can we expect the London dates in the same announcement or is it "US-only"?

Well, you really must pay more attention then, because heaven forbid there actually is an announcement, and I'm not around to draw your attention to it, then you'd be in serious danger of missing it, and the excitement, and the ticket prices, and the tour itself even, and just about everything in fact !! And then you'd be mighty pissed off !!

March 11 - Tour starts on May 2, More dates in Europe in winter?

The kettle is almost boiling now. The tour start is May 2nd, according to RollingStone.com. From almost everywhere we hear hints about dates and negotiations. No doubt, it's about time for all of this - shortly before any official announcement. Rumours fly high - for instance in Brazil, some magazine suggested the Stones would play at the opening of Palmeiras stadium - in 2014.

Also, in Austria, ticket seller eventtickets.at mentions a tour date in Austria during autumn/winter 2013. One of our friends got the information from them, that apparently a tour of 14 cities in Europe is planned and one of them at least would be Vienna of course. [thx LukasM !]

Whatever be the case - a tour streching from summer dates in USA to some Europe dates in late 2013 and even adding some dates more into 2014 is by all means a possibility - given that the boys stay healthy, we can look forward to it.

Hope that the Europe-rumours will be true...

This is the usual way it is happening:

1. Announcement
2. Ticket sales
3. Shows

But it is usually decided the other way around. I.e. first show dates and tour concept is given a "go" by the band, with a given number of shows (18-20). Then the PR people look into the beat way of make this happen in a complex world filled with other competing events. Then we get the ticket sales shortly after. They will be opn stage in less than three months from now, but I have not seen any May dates yet. Unless they move forward some shows, it will be early June. But I do know they moved some US shows from July to June, probably to make space for the UK stopover.

I think Rolling Stone and Billboard is picking up rumours here and other places, then repackaging these. I see old and new rumours in a strange mix. Don't trust every date and every item that is printed, even if it is coming from major press.

Since they won't be able to do 18-20 shows in June, I assume UK literally is a "stopover" for 2 weeks around Glastonbury? And the US tour continues in July?

Yes. I assume they do East coast US early June, then UK two weeks, then the rest of the summer in NA. They did the same with SarsStock Toronto in the middle of the European tour. From Prague to Toronto and back to Germany with a minimum of crew. And generic festival stage. They had a private plane and made it with comfort. I spent 3 days on travel and all my extra miles catching that show. I was in the air 2 days and in Toronto only a day or so. This time they will have more time I think.

With all due respect - the concert for SARS was a sort of emergency situation. Toronto really needed huge public figures to prove to the world that our city was safe to be in. It was the one and only time that the Stones waved to the crowds while entering the hotel from getting out of the limos.

But this time, I cannot see Prague to Toronto back to Prague then to NYC then back to Paris, as an example. Alan Dunn will have it logistically more organised than that. They don't need/want all this trans-Atlantic crossing. It makes no sense.

SARS was a completely different situation. Yes, it was Prague to Toronto and then immediately back to Europe.

This isn't like that!

Just my humble opinion.......

Those 70 year-olds are in an envious position. They just have to rehearse for a week or two and then show up and play. The quality of the product doesn't matter anymore.
People will pay whatever it takes just to see them on stage one more time. It's a crazy world outhere...

I will, by complete chance, be in NYC July 25-Aug 5....any chance they will be playing in the US during that period? I could travel WITHIN the US to catch them....or will I be too late?

That's not true. They rehearsed quite extensively for the December shows and most people though they played well and the shows were good. same situation here. They'll rehearse for meore than a week. The quality of the product does mater. If they suck,people won't come.

He's planning on not making an announcement.

The British Summer Time Festival changed their dates. It is now from 5th to 14th July, not from 28th June to 7th July. So basically one week shifted.

Of course this could be in order to not collide with Hard Rock Calling. But it could also mean, that they shifted to get the Stones. I find that pretty likely.
