OK, here's the deal:

- I'm leaving for "up North" this Thursday

- shall live there until about end-October

- BUT, I'LL COME BACK TO TORONTO WHEN I NEED TO BE HERE (get what I mean)....

Nice. And MTV just vacated the Masonic Temple....

Kindly explain please. I thought it was CTV??

Is it totally empty now? cool smiley

???????????????????????

Yes it is still owned by BellMedia (CTV's parent company) but all MTV production moved down to 299 Queen St. a few weeks ago so it's vacant now. Totally empty.

Many thanks for the info. Totally empty!! Interesting........

Let's see, choices in L.A.......

Staples
Sports arena
Hollywood Bowl (always more expensive for the better seats)
Honda Center (Anaheim)
Home Depot Center (...a stadium, but smaller than most)
Forum? I think is currently under a renovation

...then you have the stadiums....god I hope not!

Todger Stadium

One of my top 5 Stones shows was the Bridges to Babylon at Dodger. Dylan's kid opened the show, and we had perfect sound for his whole set as we were trying to find tickets (I actually became a Wall flowers fan that night).

We waited for prices to come down, it worked, we landed up close/floor tickets and The Stones played a great show. They seem to play UP when the audience has a bunch of show biz folks in the crowd. At one point Jagger said (sic) "There are so many people back stage tonight we might have to turn the stage around" ; ) It was funny.... and it was a great show! RSLA

I remember that show...it was a freebee for us, when we arrived, our seats didn't exist so they gave us other ones and the ticketmaster representative reversed the charges.

Right on!! What is better than a free Stones show? The shirt I got at that show is still one of my favorites. I liked Dodger Stadium, it is great set up, good sound... I guess because of the horseshow shape.

PS... geeeeezzz how is that show was over 15 years ago? My how time flies.

I was also at that show, second night. I also got freebies which was great...free is always good.

I saw James Wood at the place we were having dinner on Sunset Blvd., just before the show...he was wearing a Stones leather jacket.

Where did you find this info from 27th July? I can't find it on the Hard Rock Calling Twitter page. Do you have a link?

Thanks for the info. I thought that HRC is on 29 and 30 June, never read about 27th July. Just have to wait one more day for the announcement of HRCsmiling smiley

As Gazza on RocksOff correctly pointed out the HRC and Glastonbury dates are the same weekend and the Stones do not play two consecutive nights. Personally I think we have a better chance of the playing Glastonbury but this 27th July could be a standalone event for the Stone. The only other conceivable festival/outdoor event around this time would be the new British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park the weekend after. Unless.....Bv said an outdoor event perhaps Knebworth? Although for me relying on public transport that would be a bloody nightmare to get to.

That July date would appear to be speculative, and they haven't updated their information since Hard Rock Calling was announced for June 29 and 30.

This page includes a caveat - *to be confirmed

They only play where they can use the same stage.
This time they don't have something they can use outside (in huge stadiums).
Since festivals already have their own stage and for other reasons it's highly likely they will play Glasto and/or at other festival sites.

In that case Hyde Park Summertime festival seems the only logical assumption. Are we hot or cold with our guesses bv?

Most recent update on Stones Facebook was posted Friday. No hint of an announcement.

Their Facebook page is public, so you don't need a Facebook account to view it.

Concerts in Hyde Park will only be on weekends.

"Six ticketed live music events will take place on the Great Oak stage over back to back weekends."

Very true. I hadn't thought of that! They used the Downsview (Sars Concert) stage way back then!

But.......I STILL won't nix any outdoor concerts......not yet. (I get info today!!) grinning smiley But as you also know "the rules", I can only give vague hints.

Well into the day indeed; just did my five times a week 6 1/2 miles. Will bike later this afternoon another 7 miles (+7 back) into the city for two movies I wanna see: Argo and Sightseers. Eat something in between. Read more comments when I get back.

Good idea milady; we'll stay in touch!

I also will skip any/all festivals! Too old to be tromping through mud and a mass of people who seem to be gunned out of their minds!!

Even in the Shebeen, there are far too many hangers-on who spoil the event. Sars Concert had mnay folks in the Shebeen who should not have been in there. Also.....no name mentioned....... one in the entourage gets mean/ugly/nasty whilst stoned.

Who needs that? eye rolling smiley
