I just saw these 2 beauties as I was browsing tv schedules for tonight. I know most people have seen Ladies and Gentlemen and lots own it,but if you haven't or just want to catch it ,its on at12.30am straight after The Who Live in Texas 75 just before Mooons death,I have not seen this so I will give it a look in.
I agree that The Who Live in Texas '75 is a treat because of the fact that these shows are among the last where Keith Moon is shown as still performing at his peak. I bought this concert on DVD last fall when it was finally officially released, but somehow I found the sound to be somewhat disappointing. I was hoping the sound would be cleaned up and remastered as an official release, but instead it seems to have been sourced from bootleg tapes and the DVD has that same tin can type quality that makes the sound overall a bit scratchy, particularly when listened to through headphones at full volume. You'll also note that most the video features just one single camera angle throughout, from above stage right, though Won't Get Fooled Again incorporates two camera angles, the second one coming from audience level stage left. Still, I won't complain completely, because it's always great to see a video of The Who performing at their legendary level.
