I havent scanned through much of this message board so I apologize if i'm posting something that's been discussed several thousand times. I heard on the radio very recently that the stones are expected to tour in '06. Previously i'd understood later in 2005.

Is this latest news, i.e. 2006 instead of 2005? Thanks in advance for any info.

Well, really there's no need. I can just ask you here can't I? (I'm slow sometimes - LOL). My question is: Is it possible that I could have the box on February 10th at the latest? I'm going to my fathers and he's very excited to hear what is on the discs I'm getting from you. Also, there's a guy in my dad's town that is a big Stones fan oo. He wants to hear it as well (And he's a potential customer for you for sure )It's not at all to put pressure on you. It would just be cool if I could take them home to him on that day.

I think the tour will kick off in the second half of 2006 in the USA, because there is soccer in Germany in 2006, and a lot of people that usually work for the stones are now on the payroll of U2 (Jake Berry, ETS, ...) + U2 will ad some dates at the end of this year!

Anyhow we will know more in may this year. If there is no press conference in may 05 the tour will start next year in september.

why release the cd in summer 05 and not tour til summer 06

I can't see a US tour this year really, many acts on the road at the same time and the Stones played there less than 2 years ago (I'm not counting the Toronto Rocks show), and the same goes for Europe, I think that is too soon to tour that markets, they can play in South America at the end of this year and US/Europe in 2006, IMO.

I dont see how they can market a record without a tour. Last time that happened was Dirty Work, & in the 80s they still were a major radio presence.

Why not time this like U2 did? That would mean an album release in october / november and a spring / summer tour the following year.

No way. there's more to Europe than Germany. They can easily play stadiums in Germany in May or July-August, either side of the World Cup. The last 3 World Cup tournaments to be held in Europe coincided with a Stones European tour. No reason why the next one cant.

The U2 American shows will probably start around November and will only cross over with the Stones tour for a few weeks. My info is that as regards tour personnel is concerned, that isnt going to be a significant problem (both band were on the road at the same time for a while in 97-98 incidentally, although mostly - but not exclusively - in different markets)

The Stones themselves have gone on record as saying they will a) release a new album and b) tour in 2005. Good enough source as far as I'm concerned, and there have been plenty other good sources who have backed this up.

If the tour is to be in 2005-

The Stones will probably have a press conference around May, with the release date of the album, and rehearsals in July and August, (just like the Licks tour was announced). They started the tour remember before the Licks album was released too.

I figure if all is well with Charlie, (and then we had the outrageous rumors about Mick) if all is well health wise, I see a tour in September 2005, or Jan/Feb/2006.

If there IS a problem with any of the Stones' health, then the tour will not be 2005.

Announcement in May or June.
Single in May or June.
USA tickets on sale in May or June.
Album in June or July.
First appearance in London in August - just for something new AND to cash in on the tourist season there, then:
Off to America in Aug or Sept til just before Christmas, as always.
A few more American dates in the winter of '06. Just like always.
Then off to Japan and perhaps Australia to take advantage of the warmth there.
Europe in the Spring and Summer of '06.

Just my conjecture mind you, but they are creatures of habit.

I think all of the above post will happen apart from :

1) Album closer to the tour date & if any single is released (and it may not be) it'll be around that time too

2) US tour pt 1 sept - november. December off.

3) Latin American shows immediately after a few extra North American shows in early 2006. That may be at the expense of Australia, but a South American tour in early '06 is pretty much all but confirmed

The Stones started reserving their venues for this nect tour before the Licks tour was over.

So no need to worry about U2, or any other band's tours conflicting with the STONES.

Besides, who is going to mess with the STONES, period.

The Stones will release an album this summer. The "Say date" is June according to their producer. Very Early July may also be a possibility.

Tour to start in August or September in the states.

2006 was never an option.

The Stones are in the very thick of recording an album as we write. Alot of prep for this album has also been done well before Febuary. Many songs have been written and demoed. Now they are in the thick of the recording process with these songs.
They have loads of material they have come up with to choose from and work up.
This is all very factual.

So, Ian, I thought Keith was makin' the movie this month with Johnny Depp, (according to the news)? Of course, knowing the business and all, if Keith has a cameo, he wouldn't be required to be on the set for very long. Then again, the director might just shoot Keith's scenes early and add 'em later.
