Milo - Sounds like you enjoy The Replacements as much as I do. Truely one of the great and certinly underappreciated bands of all time. As an aside, I saw Tommy Stinson's solo show at Mercury Lounge in NYC last Saturday. Clearly a lot of Westerberg has rubbed off on him as his song writing was similar and almost as good.

Can you call Mozarts compositions 'songs'?

<Can you call Mozarts compositions 'songs'?>

"Singer/Songwriter" - at least Mozart wrote music, but he was hardly a singer...

What I meant was...

Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor is not a song, is it. I's a composition. A 'work'? No idea how you say it in English.

The parts of the compositions are movements. Not songs.

Hell, whatever. Who cares.

Mozart was the greatest composer of all time, but Schubert was a greater composer of songs. Unless you count the aria's from M's operas, that is ...

<Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Woody Guthrie>

You should throw in Leadbelly and Jimmie Rodgers there as well. All great!
