more 81 soundboards to come soon + upgrades

Yesterday in Tokyo I was informed by one of the owners of Dogs and Cats (former VGP) that soon (between mid Feb/March) more 81 gigs will be released in soundboard quality by the label.
The upgrade of French made (the Olympia '95 gig) is worth the buy. Can't judge yet about the one of MSG 27-11-69.

When they find some '72 soundboards I'll be pleased.

I saw those VGP discs in Kyoto last week. At a place called
"Joe's garage", right next to the university.
OK, there was a lot of choice, but the prices were ridiculous.
4000 yen = 40 US $ for one CD? And 60 US $ for a double CD?
That's way too much, considering that here on the Hokkaido
island there about a third of the price. Why are these discs
so ridiculously expensive?

Well, $60 for a 2CD VGP set is a good price, if you consider we had to pay $150 a few years back!

I'm waiting for them to rerelease Manchester and Auckland '73, Boston 18/7/1972 and MSG 27/6/1975...

The existing Auckland 73 is from my audience master, Andy - I don't believe an alternate version has ever circulated

Auckland and Manchester '73 soundboards? I wish... no, what I meant was for VGP (or DAC) to rerelease those recordings, as they're currently out of print.

And what about the upgrade of MSG 27-11-69 Kees mentioned - anyone heard it? Is it better than Live In New York and the release by Penetration Records?

I reckon he's talking about Penetration Records version as this is a fairly "new" release.

But please let us know....

Can anyone give a definitive answer if the 11-27-69 Penetration Records version really is an alternate audience source, i.e. different from the widely circulating recording (available on "It´s No Hangin´ Matter" and others...)?

Since it's the only version I have of this show I can't compare, but I think Esky recently said so. The boot says it's "Made exclusively from a 2nd generation tape from the master reels".

If you want to have a copy drop me a line.

Whale,

Where is "Joe's Garage"?

I live near Osaka, and don't know of any good music stores in Kyoto, so I'd like to check this place out some time.

How did you get there, by bus, subway, or train? If you could give me any directions to this place at all, I would greatly appreciate it.
