Why do you care about Mick's health?
Date: January 21, 2005 23:48

He doesn't care about yours. He would not be saddened if any of you had cancer other than the normal concern humans share. You people are acting like a family member may be ill.

THAT WAS A CRUEL, STUPID THING TO SAY FROM A STONES FAN, OR ARE YOU A STONES HATER? SOME OF US CARE DEEPLY ABOUT MICK AND THE STONES AND IF YOU DO NOT SHARE IN OUR FEELINGS, BEST TO JUST SHUT UP THAN TO SAY SOMETHING AS IGNORANT AS THAT!

Without wanting to get too sentimental here, in many ways we are like a cyber-family, we might bicker and fight, but can also pull together
over possible adversity like this. In many ways
we live vicariously thru the Stones, who more
often than not unite us with their music.
There are worse ways to wile away your
time. If one thinks thats ridiculous
then move on, there's lots of other
stuff to do on the net, some-
thing for everbody. Welcome
to the new millenium........................................................!

It's what fans do Mitch. It's one way traffic you see.
I really don't care about any of them either it would just be a pity if I would have to stop doing myself the favour of going to their concerts.

Oooh, DEBRA and her ALL CAPS are really mad.

And so what? So what the h*ll if Micky Jaggy has cancer?

Tell us in detail DEBRA, why this would matter to you, instead of getting MAD
about nothing. Getting MAD about PEOPLE you've NEVER met, and NEVER WILL...

Micky doesn't care about you or ME at all. He'll take your money readily.
I haven't given the Stones, Inc any money for a couple of decades.
The Stones were GREAT when they had MICK TAYLOR.

Since then, they've been fading.

This is fast becoming a small minded site where people who are intelligent start posting threads which belittles their intelligence.
For crikies sake mitchtaylorormick perhaps someday you will really appreciate what the Stones have been all about to their real fans.
In the meanwhile is you wish to slag/critise the Stones individually or collectively then that is your opinion which has to be respected.
However life is strange and if you had any real savy as to peoples feelings and opinions then the experience of life often brings you back to reality with a bang.

While I agree that on an individual basis, none of the Stones care about us in the singular , because they do not know us, this is all just silly. The fact that some people do not appear to have any conception of what being a fan is about is somewhat insane considering that they spend so much time at a fan site. The concept of celebrity is not new to the world. Nor is it just relagated to us on this site; how many people cried for Princess Dianna? Does it make sense? Maybe not, but it is the way the world works, and if if a few of you cannot get that, than it is you and not the ones that you criticize that are being thick headed.

Now you Mitchtaylorormick obviously try and bait people and draw out emotional response. I am sure a good psychiatrist would have a field day with whatever need drives you to antogonize these reposnses from people who are as total strangers to you as you point are that they are to Mick. The whole reason behind your posting is to get emotional feed back from strangers, a mildly pathetic (and annoying) need for attention. But you win, you ar getting the attention you childishly crave, even from me. If , as accused, you are sven, it is even a bit more pathologic that you have to adopt identity after identity to appear as legion.

Jason P, at least you admit that at one time yo might have cared. Of course it is the perrenial question for me, why oh why are people that feel that only 5 years out of 43 have any value doing here so often. Are there not Mick Taylor sites that you could go to and be happy>? I always question what drives someone to return to complaining for over 30 years instead of moving on. And if you spend NO MONEY on the Stones, that implies that you have NO PRODUCT and have seen NO Shows, so how could you honestly judge that there has not been one single event, solo, disc, show that has had any value for decades? I concede that it is fair to say that what you have heard and seen does not give you any pleasure, but obviously millions disagree.

well, jason P,. you are a bit off....the stones have sucked since tony chapman left, not mick taylor, right!? .. i mean, any true stones fan can see that!?...they have been all downhill since 1962 and i just don;t see how they have stayed afloat all these 40-whatever years since....really, by the time mick taylor arrived they were truly terrilble and sucked so bad i don't know how you or anyone could listen to those atrocious albums they made then...taylor was smart to leave as is obvious by his incredible worldwide super-star status attained after he left....you are right jason p, ..they are truly one of the most awful bands ever to darken the skies of the music business, and none of them deserve to live one minute longer for stealing all that money from fans all those years...WE ARE SUCH SUCKERS......

STONES JAM!! MICKEYS RULES!!! (burp) NADER IN 2016!!!!! GO GIANTS!!

I'd agree that it's best to ignore posts like this,
as they miss the point around here and perhaps
are just aimed at getting us going.

Why do we care about Mick's health? Because we're fans and want more music and concerts from a favorite performer. Does Mick care about his fans' health? Yes, in as much as we help supply his income, I'm sure he does. Why ELSE would we care if Mick had throat cancer and why would he care if we were ill? Because most of us (including Mick) are decent human beings and wouldn't wish suffering on anyone...even dumbasses who post on websites trying to wind people up with statements like "why should we care if Mick is sick." Here's a better idea...if a great Stones fansite really bugs you...go back to looking at porn.

i care for mick... i think he cares for us.. he's given us great music for over 40 years.. given us 150% at his concerts..who else works so hard for as long as he did? he keeps giving to us and i hope he still can...if he didn't care for his fans then i don't think he would work as hard as he has for the past 40 years! keep well, sir mick!

Well Mitch or Sven or whoever you are, I'm sure we would be buying your records (if you had a similar amount of talent) and I'm sure we would be concerned if you got cancer.

It's very human to be concerned about others who are ill - we are more concerned if we 'know' the person who is ill.

Ian.
