WHY ARE THE 2012 STONES CONCERTS A GREAT SUCCESS?!!

Because after 5 years peoples appetite was there. Because in a short bursts they were fresh for every show. They threw in some interesting songs and the guests all contributed something to the mix.

I think they did something magical but I also think they might tarnish their achievement by attempting a longer tour where they can't maintain the same degree of freshness and novelty and possibly also become jaded by the logistics of a longer tour.

Because they focused on performing well first.

From what I've seen and heard, I think it's their display of fondness for the music.
They seemed to be eager to show the world what great tunes they've created during the
first half century of their existence.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Because Keith had been sent to boot camp. Because Ronnie was sober. Because Mick and Charlie and consummate professionals. Because Bill and Mick T were back. (There were other good guests too.) Because they dusted down a few real oldies and gave us a little more than the generic setlist. Because even the warhorses were played with an energy that wasn't there five years ago. Because there weren't enough gigs that they became tired. Because there wasn't a support act. Because they had something to prove and they did. They are still the greatest.

After watching Celebration day (Led Zepplin) i'm not sure whether they are the greatest, i think LZ did and still could give them a run for their money. Yes i know it was a one of and the Stones have done 50 years But.....Zepplin where so good.

WHY ARE THE 2012 STONES CONCERTS A GREAT SUCCESS?!!

Two words: Vince McMahon

Long may he reign. With Vince as their guiding light, the Stones could have ten
more years left in them, something unimaginable just a few short months ago.
Vince has even got Ric Flair back in the wrestling ring, at age 63, and pro
wrestling is way harder physically than playing guitar.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I said yeah, yeah, yeah...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

what a miracle when keith and ronnie got serious and it really showed in the stripped down incarnation this time around ,let's not forget mick's voice was so awesome none of that nasal voice .my compliments to the glimmer twins !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The answer is easy: There is nothing left of good music after 50 years. So many bands broke up did not continue or whatever. The only band which got togeother for good or for bad have been the Rolling Stones. and I think they know exactly how to hit the public at the right time with the right product.

Keith and Ronnie didnt pose. It was playing that mattered.
I loved seeing Keith concentrate, get in the zone and lock in with Charlie.

They cared. They charged allot, played smaller venues, tried to strip down and knew they couldn't clown around. Woody being sober helped too, it nice to see him step up after all the free passes the band and their fans have given him. On stage Jagger directed like a traffic cop and was all in. It amazes me how he doesn't obviously lose patience. Months of rehearsal yet Keith and Ronnie are still not sure who's solo and how to end them... Maybe they need shock collars. Got to love them!

Jagger knows EXACTLY who he is dealing with and guides himself accordingly.

He did an excellent job in pulling it all together and he deserves the lion's share of the credit.

Because we didn`t know what to expect after 5 years and was suprised by a great setlist, starting with some nice old songs, and the Stones proving they can still give great live shows. And, of course, because of the guest appearence of Wyman and Taylor. The whole show was stripped down and all the focus had to be on the band. And they did not disappoint us. I want more of this in 2013!!!!!

A full-on Zeppelin tour would make the world, except for us, COMPLETELY forget about the Stones. Ditto Pink Floyd.

Imagine if Robert, Jimmy and John Paul decided to do a huge double-bill tour with Roger, David and Nick???

They did a great job with the few shows.

As for me, if they do more shows in 2013, I want them to leave out the 60's for a change. Leave out Hot Rocks, and do '70's on.

Plundered My Soul
One More Shot again
Doom and Gloom again
No Spare Parts
Anybody Seen My Baby
Out of Control maybe
Saint Of Me maybe
Can't You Hear Me Knockin'
Monkey Man
Miss You
Some Girls
Fool To Cry maybe
Rain Fall Down
Laugh, I Nearly Died
You Can't Always Get What You Want again
Almost Hear You Sigh ??
Dance
stuff from Black and Blue--Hand of Fate, Hey Negrita, Cherry Oh Baby,Crazy Mama, etc. (any of them)
No Use in Crying
Worried About You
Heaven
Loving Cup
Time Waits For No One
Till The Next Goodbye
Bitch

Forget the 60's for a change. Forget Hot Rocks for a change. How would people like that?

Well, I think they'd say, "Forget about the Rolling Stones..."

They had something to prove to the outside world, and to themselves: that they could still do it, and do it well..
