Forgive me if this has been posted before.

I was at my friendly record emporium last week and saw "40 Licks" in the NEW RELEASE catalog for late February. I asked the owner to explain why and he noted that ABCKO was taking over the distribution of the title from Virgin. They must have had some agreement early on about sharing the distribution of "40 Licks" which resulted in the impasse between the two being overcome.

The owner of the store says "40 Licks" is his best selling Stones title ("steady" as he put it) even besting "Hot Rocks" by a considerable margin. Upon further examination it was noted "Hot Rocks" is priced much higher ($36 list as opposed to $25 for 40 Licks) here in the States anyway.

Perhaps ABCKO will see their way to issuing an LP VERSION of "40 Licks." I sure as hell don't need one, but I'll buy it anyway.
