I was a member of International Rescue.

I sent off and got the badge and my Mum made me a sash.

I was also a licenced pilot of Supercar.

Before my time, and I never went back and discovered his shows. But without Gerry's influence there would be no "Team America: World Police". So RIP Gerry.

I'd have loved to have seen Thunderbirds puppets of The Stones!

RIP Gerry.

Fireflash was brilliant.

The first Thunderbirds episode was the Fireflash one... "lift port wing.. LIFT PORT WING!!!"

Amazing TV.

Supposedly for kids.

Filling our childhoods with dreams and imagination. Met him once, nice man who'd taken a few knocks over the years yet still yearned to entertain people.

Bless you Gerry Anderson. FAB.

Best spaceship ever.

100 per cent with you there GravityBoy. I used to buy TV21 Comic each week to get as much Fireball XL5 action as possible.

The future he imagined in the 60's was a lot stylish than the present we live in now...

Yep.

I bought digital scans of all the TV21 comics recently.

Also this brings back happy memories.

Wow... I just saw this and it all comes flooding back.

TV21 had a half page 3D picture in it for quite a while.

You needed the glasses of course.

I also remember this free gift as well.

Happy times throwing that about.

God, you've just transported me back to 1963...or is it 64. Wish I still had all my old comics. I managed to save mosyt of my DC Batman, Superman, Flash, Justice League Of America and Green Lanterns but TV 21 was something else.

Very proud to say I've got my 4 and a half year old daughter into Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds and Stingray. She has all the boxsets. They were of course all bought purely for her.

Yep. Avid reader of all those, plus Hotspur, Victor and Valiant.

Yes, I did that with videos for my kids.

In the last 12 months I've got the boxed sets of Thunderbirds and XL5 for when 4 and 5 year old niece and nephew come around.

Just for them.. you understand.

Did you buy the single to Fireball?

I still have that lurking about in my mum's attic.

Re: OT: 60s legend Gerry Anderson dies

I never had the single.

I had lots of Gerry Anderson toys though - most would be very valuable if I still had them.

I had a Steve Zodiac and Venus on their jet bikes.

Dinky Supercar.

Stingray.

All the Thunderbirds (except 5 - too expensive).

Captain Scarlet SPV, Saloon Car.

I bought them all again for my kids about 20 years ago.. still got those.

You launched it with a catapult and it came back down with a parachute.

Supercar wasn't Dinky.

That is absolutely the one I had though.
