That's pretty, where is that? Not everyone knows where/what the Tidal Basin is.

Sorry, Koen. The Tidal Basin is a reservoir in Washington DC and the Cherry Blossom trees encircle it. Here's a better pic of what it looks like, when the trees are not in bloom.

Got a lot of rain yesterday/last night in SE Louisiana and now it's in the mid 40s. It was 81F or so yesterday. Low temp tomorrow morning is to be around 34F.

That's beyond wrong.

GREAT picture latebloomer! Did you take it yourself? Reminds me of all the Dogwood trees we have here in Knoxville. I haven't been to DC in forever... I'm now thinking that if/when I manage to get back, I'm going to try & time it to see those blossoms!

Peace,
Mr DJA

Not mine, got the pic from the newspaper. If you look closely, you'll also see all the tourists. It gets really crowded down there during the peak week to see the blossoms, but it's still worth it to go. DC is beautiful this time of year. smiling smiley

In Northern Ca, we've gone back to our normal patttern of some rainy weather, some nice weather, on and off. We haven't gotten the biblical sized rain storms we would need to make up for the dry spell we had earlier.

Hard to understand when you have days that are consistent in temps and then the bottom falls out a minus 30-40 degrees in the same week.

Well, it's a bit warmer today...in the 60's with promises to be in the mid-70's on Monday. Then a cold front will be coming through, so I'm cautiously optimistic that spring is here to stay. I wouldn't be surprised if we have just one more snowstorm before Old Man Winter calls it quits for this year.

We're supposed to get another cold snap here too, and there were rumors of a late snowstorm, which, I think, are over. But, in any case, I refuse to believe it. The snow boots, hats and gloves are now in the attic and I'm not pulling them out again! smiling smiley

It was 78 on Monday and then went downhill from there. We had about an inch of snow last night and it was in the 20's this morning. Needless to say, I wore my heavy parka to work this morning. Usually I have it washed and packed away by this time but, given the nasty winter weather this year, I held off. Good thing I did!! Once it gets warmer for good, I have to clean up the rest of the leaves from last fall...the ones we couldn't pickup because of an early snowfall.smiling smiley

Pretty much the same here. But still better than snow, snow, snow, snow, snow... for any amount of time. At least from my point of view anyway.

Worst part here is we are getting some sun which is going to cause my lawn to grow at an obscene rate! Mowing this weekend is going to be a major pain in the a$$. Or more accurately, the legs and back.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Dreary and raw with intermittent showers. Just want it to be sunny and warm but, as they say, April showers bring May flowers! I'm grateful we're not getting the devastating storms that are ripping through the Midwest and Southeast states. I heard that by yesterday morning a total of 67 tornadoes had touched down, most of them in Mississippi.

Just mowed mine - all that rain we ad in the winter is making everything grow at a mile a minute now the sun's shining. But it's May tomorrow and all the flowers are coming out: a lovely day.

Another rainy day
In New York City
Softly sweet
So silently it falls
As crosstown traffic crawls

First heat wave of the year in the mid-Atlantic seaboard area and it's not officially summer for a few more days. Close to 100F for the past few days with more of the same the rest of the week. And that's yer weather report for today...
