The sun sets here at 4:59 tomorrow, the first day of winter. It started setting at 4:59 PM on the 11-25-2020. On 12-10-2020 it sets at 5PM and by 5:10 PM on 12-31-2020.

It's a crawl the closer to the equator a place is. By 1-31-2021 it sets at 5:36 PM.

Noisy night last night with Storm Bella dumping a load of wind and rain on the UK: sometimes it's nice to be obliged to stay cosily curled up indoors.

A lot of rain, almost no more snow, and temperatures above 0 Celsius for many days here in Quebec, Canada... There's definitely something fu... up with the weather.

Snowing here in Louisiana . . . I actually had to go out at 10 pm to scrape snow off my satellite dish, first time ever.

Storm Christoph dumped a big bucketful of rain over the UK and now we have the usual sad stories of flooded homes.

Hurricane strength storm in northern west Atlantic with 30 plus foot waves. That would be fun to be in!

January has been a real winter month here in the north of Sweden. Lots of snow and temperatures between -5 C and -20 C.
Just like when I was a kid in the 70s. And the sun is starting to appear again. Looks promising.

Very cold January in the South of Norway, -10 C = 10F most of the time, same next week.

Yesterday Mount Fuji

Next weekend, during the fat week of Carnival on Samedi Gras and Dimanche Gras, it could possibly get down to 16°F here in SE Louisiana, which is absolutely dreadful for a majority of people along the Gulf Coast due to houses being raised and no or very little insolation.

Like my house!

Yet alone 26°F for 4 hours breaks pipes and severely damages plants. 3 years ago this month it got down to 13°F and fortunately I had turned my two north facing hose bibs on FULL BLAST and I could hear when they froze solid and was able to thaw them out.
