They are now predicting that the heatwave/drought in the southeast of the UK will last all through August.

No rain in sight. Heat, still around 30 C all over Sweden. Drought. Trees shed their leaves. Like in autumn. Forest fires. Villages evacuated. Groundwater scarce.
Wild animals suffering.Lack of forage. Farmers have to slaughter their cattle. Special airplanes called in from EU. I wonder how long this can go on?

Question is why ”we” never learn. Why not buy planes and who is responsible for all these fires? Typical Swedish incompetence.

The weather? Luckily, politicians can't control the weather. How to deal with it it's another matter. To complicated to even begin talking about. Everyone seems to have their own opinion about that.
And politicians blame each other. Of course..

Warmest July in Sweden since 1756 (when statistics begun). Temperatures will rise to 35 C this week. In large parts of Sweden. Forest fires not under control.
Temperatures constantly over 20 C during nights. Older people are suffering in the heat.

The south of Norway have not seen any major rain in three months now. Since the first of May, and all the way up to now, it has been record warm and really almost no rain. It is a terrible draught, the trees are dropping their leaves, the mosquitos are absent due to no water to lay their eggs in, and farmers don't get grass to feed their livestock.

The temperature is 25 C to 31 C every day and summer is tropical hot. Since the sun is not down until 10pm, and up around 4am, the heat is there most of the day and also long into the nights.

Travel agency drop their prices because nobody want to leave Norway for Spain, France or Italy, when we have the same temperatures here. First people said this is great weather but now they understand the nature is messed up and species are in serious trouble. Birds like the flycatcher, who need the mosquitos for food, are in serious trouble, trees struggle, and there is no rain in sight, not for this month, not for the next months.

My part of London had 2% of its usual rainfall last month (and I don't know where that was - Twickenham hasn't had any at all for weeks). Temperatures in the high 20s to mid 30s. Lots of grass fires.

About 40C in Greece. Big wildfires out of control around Athens, more than 70 died. Lots of missing persons. The tragedy is going on... 3 days of national mourning in Greece.

Northern Ontario, 7 pm... a storm is threatening my very lake today.

Hardly any rain all season, complete fire ban in effect. This should help sort it.

Buckets of rain are expected this weekend in Japan caused by typhoon, too.
Bob Dylan's open-air concert is under threat.

And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, and it's a hard rain's a-gonna fall........
