It snowed here all afternoon. Here being northern Louisiana, where that's not supposed to happen! This winter has killed a lot of the tropical plants in my yard, which also usually doesn't happen. sad smiley

What plants do you have that are tropical? You may be aware the best thing to do is wait. Then again it depends on what you have. Bananas, well, it got too cold up there to leave the p-stems. You might as well cut 'em down to the ground because that part of the plant is completely shot.

And mulch them heavily. More blasts on the way in February!

Cold weather continues here and the flu is bad now too. Lots of people in waiting rooms with face masks on. It's not too late for a flu shot, if you haven't gotten one yet.

Spring will be most welcome this year...

A shot of last year's flu? Ha ha! No thanks! The flu evolves...

Anyone remember how hot and thirsty we were at Hyde Park? This is what it looks like this week after the wettest January for 100 years:

what? another 6 to 10 to 20 inches of snow possibly coming tonight into tomorrow? and then heading East again?? This is getting to be a long cold winter. I gotta move away, to somewhere warm, someplace with nice boring warm weather, thats the ticket.

Most definitely, I got burnt to s**t standing up all bloody day. Is it really the wettest January in 100 years ? Well I guess I can believe it, I was home for the month and I don't think there was barely a day without rain, just awful. Feel sorry for the poor sods that live in them there Somerset Levels. What must that be like, literally WEEKS in a metre and a half of water. YUK !

Are you on one of your overseas trips, pauly? You're well out of this lot: yet another bout today of rain, rain, storms, gales, floods, high tides etc etc et bloody cetera, and no end to it in sight.

Yes I am, I'm in western Uganda at the moment, in DRY season would you believe ? Agreed, I most certainly am well out of it. The entire month of January at home was pretty horrible to be honest, and it seems as if it just goes on and on and on ..........

We're getting it right now...delayed opening for schools again, which I guess is helpful, but I got to slip slid myself to work now and I'm not looking forward to it.

One of my co workers fell on some black ice in the parking lot yesterday. I don't mind snow, but I hate ice. sad smiley

Stay safe and warm and try to not fall... or at least have a lot of padding if you do slip.

Feel for you Max (and others effected). Had the weather channel on last night and saw an interview from KC, MO where they were interviewing the Lt. Gov. of KS. I don't envy you right now that's for sure. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the snow/rain lines stay north of Tennessee as expected.

I've had enough this winter and, although it was nothing compared to what ATL went through, my 0:35 commute turning into a 3:45 commute and requiring the assistance of a tractor to pull my car out of the roadway was more than I needed last week.

C'mon Spring & Summer! It's time to THAW!

Peace,
Mr DJA

Thanks Bro, it is not too bad, 12 inches of snow is just a hassle, shoveling snow is such a waste of effort, but has to be done, I guess winking smiley Stay warm.

Made it in safe and sound Max, thanks. Good thing too, cause there ain't no padding to speak of...grinning smiley

It's afternoon here and there's still ice everywhere.

Finally. But still not enough to end the drought.

I heard on the radio these storms could reduce the drought by 20 Percent. Not bad for just a few days.
