Rorty - I agree about the first part of CYHMK - Keith just doesn't reproduce the magic of the orig recorded guitar - however his rhythmic jabs & fills during the long instrumental section are fine imo. Keith seems at his best when not trying to reproduce the original recorded part of a song - which (presumeably drunk/chemically altered) he forgets - but just goes on instinct.
john r - I agree. The way Keith - clearly instinctly- jams in the instrumental section is very tasteful and natural - he seems to get a nice feeling for the song. The problem and a weak link is the first part that is so distinctive in the original recording (and most thanks to Keith's powerful landmark guitar). Now it sounds like "hey, let's get quickly through song part of the tune, so we can start that nice jam..". perhaps they should do like Mick Taylor nowadays - forget the whole first part and just start from the jam.
