Incomprehensible Grief was in the title of another thread. It's the closest I've been able to get to describing how this feels. May any universal love be with us all. We're with you Newtown, CT.

Peace,
Mr DJA

No offense, but I would rather not see this story on this web site.

I logged on here this morning, and read the thread about this terrible tragedy.I told my wife about it,and we both feel sick to the guts about it.As it is, we are having a sixth birthday party for our son today.I cannot even begin to imagine how those families who lost children are feeling, and I hope to Christ I never have to.Our thoughts are with those suffering....and with the rebuilding of their lives. Enough.....

I saw our band last Saturday at Barclay, exuberance, on tv in MSG for Sandy, exultation, and read here about last night in Newark, great joy, happiness, re-affirmation for the Greatest Rock band in history, sadly obliterated from the news about Newtown Ct mass murder.

I am on the West Coast, nowhere near the crime scene. Yet, my heart is broken and I have been holding back tears all day. These poor little innocent precious angels have been killed for no reason. Their families will never recover. It is truly the most horrifying crime I can remember ever hearing about. Anyone who abuses children in any way has a special place in hell. This bastard is the poster boy for hell. My heart goes out to the parents, grandparents, siblings, and classmates of these little kids.

Sad but now pissed off. As a parent of a 6 and 9 year old no words can describe the feelings if my children were at that school. The uncertainty. I am sick of these people who decide today is the day. These people need help or we as parents need to do a better job helping them if they are in trouble. What happened to my country? Someone said this should not happen in a country as ours. Well, this is where it is happening. Where do we go from here? My prayers are to the parents and those children who lost a child or a parent. I'm truly lost right now. What really matters to you? Start putting all of your attention and love to those who need it. It is time we stop being selfish and open our eyes before we see more of this bullshit.

Events like this prioritize what's truly important and trivialize what we thought was important. The fact that this happened at a time of year when parents tend to fawn over their children will make this so much harder for them. Every year at this formerly happy time, they'll be reminded. Horrible.

I was just thinking to myself as I was cleaning my house listening to the news reports, I wish BV didn't close this thread and just now I checked and here it is. Thanks BV.

I do see it as a kind of outpouring of emotions for all of us, many whom here are parents and maybe some even young men and women. I myself have a 7 year old daughter in 2nd grade and cannot imagine the pain those families are enduring, nor do I want to. Christmas will be saddened for all Americans.

Some things in this world go far beyond my ability to understand them. I can't find any proper words...I myself have a 2,5 year old daughter and the idea that in 2 or 3 years she would go to school and would never come back because someone just had the idea of shooting some innocent kids is something I can not cope with. But I don't really want to talk about myself, that is inapropriate here. I can't think of anything worse that could happen to anyone and so again, there are really no words to comfort anyone who has to go through this right now. I am devastated just because hearing such news, I can't imagine how those involved must feel. My deepest sympathy to those who lost their loved souls there.

What a horrible disaster. To me, it seems that there is no proper solution. Here in Germany, where gunlaws are enforced much harder, we also have experienced horrible (highschool) massacres. No one can control people inside. Mental illness and sheer madness was an issue throughout the history of mankind.
