Any parking advice for the Prudential Center?

I am attending Saturday's show and have a rental car, so I will drive to the show. Can anyone offer any good advice as far as parking? I saw on the Prudential site that parking lots near the venue are charging at least $30. Will there be any cheaper options and for my own safety, do you recommend only being within a 2-3 block radius of the venue?
Thanks.

Based on my experience in the US -it's all really one big parking lot. You can dump your car where ever you want.

I'd take a cab.... not the best place to leave a car unattended. The paid lot "should" be safe but not worth the hassle of driving and risk getting lost....
that could be like a Louisiana swamp.

If you're staying close to the venue just take a cab. Probably cheaper than the parking lots which might be full anyway. $30 is a lot to park plus those guys are always looking for tips.

Park at the Newark airport, then take the shuttle to Penn Station Newark, it's a short walkk to the Pru. Airport parking is cheap and plentiful.
