Overrated: Satisfaction
Underrated: Child of the Moon

Criteria: The underrated would make a CD for being stranded on a deserted island...also, they're not really known by non-Stones fans...

Underrated- Salt of the Earth, Loving Cup, Slave, Sleep Tonight, Torn And Frayed, Worried about You, Tops, Tie You Up (pain of Love), Til the Next Goodbye, Out of Tears, Let Me Go, Highwire, Everything Is Turning To Gold (I know...probably hated by some!), Blinded by Rainbows

Criteria: I could live without ever hearing the overrated ones ever again....and some of these were released as singles and receive good radio airplay!

Overrated- She's So Cold, Hangfire, Little T and A, Neighbors (not bad really), Harlem Shuffle, Heartbreaker, Bitch (the last two are pretty damned good though!)

Under Rated- Out of Tears

Over Rated- Miss You

Under: One Hit To The Body
Over: Tumbling Dice

Couldn't disagree more re: HTW. Might be the the most simplistically brilliant song in the Stone's catalogue. Sure it's overplayed, but...the way the cowbell doesn't match the drum intro, the sparse one chord guitar intro, the riff before the singing begins, the raunchy lyrics...it's all genius.

I totally agree with you guys, HTW is pure brilliance. It defines the essence of the Stones: a solid "square" drum rythm, simple yet kick-ass starting riff, the amazing solid solo before the chorus, the sexually explicit lyrics.
Come on guys, the album version IS the Stones!

Overrated: Some Girls album
Underrated: Shattered - one of their best songs!

Some Girls (the album) is overrated, but Shattered is underrated?!?

The most overrated Stones song has to be You Can't Always Get What You Want!
Underrated pearls: Sweet Black Angel, Backstreet Girl, New Faces

I forgot to mention the most underrated Stones song imo. I think Waiting On A Friend really is one of the all time greatest songs written by anyone. Ok, it's a Stones classic, but not as classic as it deserves to be.

Most underrated: Soul Survivor comes to my mind immediately, Time Waits For No One, Voodoo Lounge albumm

Most overrated: difficult to say, overrated among fans is Worried About You, in my opinion. Others: Harlem Shuffle, Fool To Cry
