All this @#$%& waiting all the time. I mean: I sit here hoping for news on the new album and tour, but I have to go to bed every night with nothing new. I could sleep peacefully if I knew when the album was coming out or if I knew when the tour started. But there's NOTHING, nada, zip, deadly, niente. I hate it.

No. My world doesnt revolve around a new Stones album or tour, so I guess it depends on whether youve other things to occupy yourself with.

I dont see why anyone feels the need to get so anxious about 'news' on an album that hasnt been recorded yet and is at least 6 months away from being released and a tour which wont start until the late summer at the earliest and which probably wont be announced any earlier than May.

God knows what some people would have done in the days before the internet when you didnt have setlists online within minutes of the show, news reports every few days, like-minded people to gossip with on message boards and press conferences relayed around the world live by satellite.

Nowadays, people seem to want daily updates on the band's bowel movements or else they think they're missing out on something.

As you can see, it wasn't until the end of February 2002 there were some substantial reports coming in. What I mean is, as we're in the middle of January it is too soon to expect any solid information like album release dates, song titles, tour dates etc.

Right on Gazza. There's work to do, music to listen to, films to see, books to read, lawns to mow and women to make love to. Why worry about something you have no influence on? Makes this page look like an excerpt from Busteds site.

There will be a tour this year (and the following).

Kent, I'm always busy & still the Stones have been sort of a 'shadow life' for me since I was 11 or 12. Meaning when I think on a year in my life I recall jobs, school, relationships, problems, etc & also what was going on in music for me esp the Stones. One thing I have always found helpful is re-visiting their catalog, plus the solo/outside stuff - if I'm careful not to OD on a record by just throwing it on while vacuuming/doing taxes, if I listen & pay close attention, I always find something new or fresh -or a new perspective - there are so many ways to listen. Be it from perspective of their other work, or paying attention to Charlie, or Mick, or the guitars, or the production, or the ambience, or hearing it in the context of other records from the same year/era, it keeps their stuff fresh & there are usually nuances I may have missed or heard differently.Their stuff is mostly rich enough to repay close attention.

Yeah, I know. But I OD'ed on the Stones a long time ago. And I'm still not tired of it. It's because I know there's something new coming out. I'm really looking forward to it very very much. So now the old stuff isn't that interesting, because I know of the freshness I will ease my ears with when it comes out.

Yep. Charlie was right there. With the Stones (And I suppose any other music group) there's always a ton of waiting to do before something comes. It's like Robert de Niro says in "Cape Fear": "Every man has to go through hell to reach Paradise". This was never more true than with the Stones. OK, that's exaggerating, but it's the same ball part.

how much more do you need or expect? they wont announce a tour until they have a record ready - and it hasnt been recorded yet. End of story
