But...
Springsteen?
I am bothered by this choice. Sure, it's New Jersey and all, but we're talking a worldwide PPV here.
Erm... Springsteen is huge worldwide.

like so many rihanna fans, i boycott all things gaga.
Spoken like a true 12-year-old.
Is this the present-day version of the Beatles vs Stones feud?
Green Lady, no, Rihanna is just like Mick. She does not trash anyone who does
not trash her. But they definitely do not associate with each other, even
though, like Mick, Rih associates with just about everyone.
Its that a lot of Rih's fans are like Stones fans, they have strong musical
principles, and Gaga is viewed as having no musical principles.
Its not that Gaga doesnt have talent, she does have talent, its just that
what she does with that talent is viewed by many as musically and
culturally offensive. Whereas Rih's fans like Stones fans are of every
philosophical and political stripe, gaga's little brownshirts are, uh, little
brownshirts (not right-wing brownshirts, but scarily, almost militarily, in
step with their leader on everything)
I was just on the phone with gf Reba, and its so funny, because with all the
things we disagree on, Reba and me are absolutely united since day one in our
detestation of Gaga. Reba was kinda pushing me to watch the ppv with her, but
now like me she has no interest whatsoever.
I think it is just really funny that Mick picked I'm pretty sure the only
artist in the world that could have caused me (and Reba) to boycott the
pay-per-view. But it was a good trade on Mick's part. Lose one buyer, gain
millions of others.
But does Rihanna have "strong musical principles"???
If so, why does she buy cheap-azz songs from poor norwegian song writers?

Of course, I realize Springsteen is huge worldwide.
But I don't think he brings anything to the table as far as the PPV goes...
If a New Jersey Stones' show isn't going to sell out, then by all means trot the local boy out there to sell some more tickets.
In my humble opinion, Bruce does not belong on stage with The Rolling Stones.
They don't need him to be relevant.

FYI, Bruce is a huge Stones fan, and in past shows he has covered Street Fighting Man, Satisfaction, the Last Time and It's All Over Now.

My goodness. I really don't care about any of them, still hoping for Mick Taylor and Bill
or at the very least

Mentioned this another thread but a promo feed at work came through advertising
E!'s PPV pre-show with "celebrity arrivals", backstage interviews and such starting at 8 EST.

I really don't like her but must say that she is actually very talented. Look up some stuff before she was famous playing only piano and singing without crazy makeup on YouTube. The rest is all marketing, but what do you think people like Bowie did with their "personaes"?

Compared to this my suggestion was better: Don Rickles, Ted Nugent and Bozo The Clown.

If the Stones choose to perform WITh Lady Gaga and WITHOUT actual Stones Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor. I'm truly done. That's a bigger "f u c k you" to their fans than the ticket prices. Thanks for 50 fun years guys, but time to move on.

I'm actually fine with all three.
Black Keys are cool - I'd love to see how they'd mesh with the Stones.
Bruce is Bruce. I happen to love the guy. Seeing him onstage with the Stones will be interesting to watch. Bruce is definitely an alpha male. Mick is probably the biggest one ever. The dynamic should be fantastic.
As for Gaga, not my cup of tea but she's undeniably talented and weird. I'd rather see her than some female singer with a good voice but no discernible personality.
Regardless, I'm just psyched it's not Clapton or Beck. Great musicians but too slick for the Stones and, to me, terrifyingly boring to watch.
