OK Knockin' nice find. I swear I read those policies twice looking for something like that, perhaps it was recently added due to the confusion. Although I personally find good food (and ice cream) far from boring, reading about them with accompanying photos can be a different thing. One only has to look at all the FB and other social media posts "Look what I'm eating tonight" to understand how stupid and obsessive folks can get with it. I think I now understand why bv has chosen to disallow such posts here. Pretty sure if swiss had read that sentence she'd still be here. Thanks.

Yeah, it's understandable but still disappointing that ice cream can get someone banned... I, for one, would've looked forward to viewing/commenting on that thread, but... well, I guess it was a violation like the many alcohol threads bv has apparently missed.

Question: can anyone explain the "cold shower" comment bv made on tauk's flirting thread? I guess BV was telling everyone to chill, but it seems very strange, even in context, because that flirting thread was FAR from the most inappropriate thread I've seen, and I felt it actually became kind of introspective and philosophical toward the end.

My 2 cents....... I don't think talking about ice cream or other OT subjects, is any more or less boring than debating whether Keith's solo in Bitch was better in 72' or 73'- it all boils down to opinion and we all have one. However, in fairness to BV, I thought that my comments were going to get me booted on more than one occasion, and I'm still here.....befuddling.

But seriously, some of the stuff that's allowed here vs. what gets someone banned seems rather strange to me...

SO does it go like this. i like hiking, it fills the gap of no longer being a drinker. So if i wanted to discuss hiking with iorr members (unlikely as that would be lol ) i would pick up on the photo of Jagger hiking the other day and title the thread something like this. Mick Jagger seen hiking, any iorr hikers out there. would that be expectable..

Its very confusing on here to someone like myself. from the outside looking in on iorr, it feels like a closed shop. you all forget you were new on here once before.
i have made point after point over the last week on here on various discussions and topics and everyone just goes over it like it did not happen. its like my comments or thoughts are not in the picture. ignore him and he will go away sort of thing. very strange because i have a lot to offer and a lot to say.
there, after 2 weeks i have become a whiner already lol

I've been thinking about this banning thing and wouldn't it be cool if instead of striking people from posting, they could all be put into a special little sandbox, separate from the main Tell Me, told to play nice and after demonstrating the ability to do so would automatically be allowed to play with the adults again?

Of course the sandbox might end up being more interesting than the main board, I tend to like to sit at the kids table on holidays.

This post is of course for entertainment purposes only, I am far from actually suggesting how to run the place or insinuating anything other than the humor inherent in a sandbox where all these well know banned posters are given a chance to interact with each other, thrown together crying and screaming at the unfairness of it all eventually coming around to subject of the amazing Rolling Stones (or not).

I feel ya, Keef, I've been living on the complaints thread lately... and I too feel like I get ignored some... but lately, the most challenging thing has been trying to figure out what is and isn't allowed on this board. Let's go back to the infamous "cold shower" post by BV. Here's one of the things in that post:

what makes you think i will not be banned. i do like it on here though. i try not to lose my temper but some people say the most moronic things. especially Jagger fans who dislike Keith. like they think Jagger in the 80's solo is something to be proud of. it nearly destroyed all the credibility and image they worked so hard for. the stones never needed to try competing with 80's pop bands. or like disco in 78' like miss you i hate that song now they play every night because jagger thinks its great. even today Keith still holds up the image bless him.. hey i might live out here for a bit with you and naturalust hehe
