Worldwide Live,"One More Shot" Greatest Live PPV Ever!!!.

Has there been an event with such worldwide availability before?.

PPV or Online Live...

This makes Hampton look like a regional broadcast IMO.. But I will give that FM simulcast the top spot how cool was that for the day.

And if he was alive i'd pay.......

It ain't 77' anymore fella's or 1973, when this was state of the art. As stated on other threads, this is potentially the biggest PPV/Live Box Office Event ever!.... Well I'm not sure of any other band/event (NFL/FIFA/IOC) online.

I'm yet to be convinced that anything has had a bigger potential audience.

MG.

Well the 12/12/12 show will have a bigger audience but it's free of course...it will be a good opportunity to test that Yahoo streaming though.

I think the ppv will not be a monumental event in terms of audience. It is going to be great fun but it is far pricier than the inevitable dvd/br that will be available afterwards for $19.95

My guess is that there was a boxing PPV somewhere along the way (e.g., Hagler-Hearns or Leonard-Duran) or a Wrestlemania that surpassed whatever the viewership of One More Shot will be. For the mainstream, this could just be "Oh no, not you again." And, at $49.95, it ain't exactly cheap!

Produced/promoted by Endemol. I'm in Endemol country and I can't watch it over here?..

Elvis - Aloha from Hawaii was rubbish. Better Madison Square Garden 6 months earlier.

only $29.99 for HD PPV in Canada...not too bad. I'll tape to my DVR as well.

Aloha from Hawaii, wasn't a worldwide simultaneous braodcast, it was beamed into the mainland but tape delayed across the planet....

So therefore NOT simultaneous....there was no FM Simulcast etc.

Respecting some of the examples above...obviously boxing events that traverse North America/Latin America/Asia as per Saturday nights Pacquiao v Marquez have the potential to reach out to massive populations, outside of the US the Latin and Asian economies are just finding their feet, so the charges they can pay are far less than developed Western Nations. So i'm picking this to have the highest Gross revenue for any PPV/Worldwide Stream ever....Heck you can see it in Gaza.....unreal

It is available at the Antartic just as a note, Sky NZ beam full services into Scott Base and McMurdo Station so I think they've got every continent covered

It's the Stones man....

the biggest pay per view in history

May 5, 2007 Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather 2,500,000 buys

with yahoo streaming and gaga screaming and about sixty countries with cable
availability i would guess the stones will take the record now

i've been to some of the gaga forums and it seems to be a given that most
all the little monsters are gonna be buying. most of the kids are realistic
but some are still hoping that the stones will at least do "pokerface"
in her honor. (sorry, kids, we don't have a month for keith to learn it)

another big reason i think for the huge ticket prices: it makes the ppv cost
seem not quite so insane (even though it is), and that's where it turns out
the REAL money is gonna be...

just so fcukin brilliant from a business perspective. 5 shows and jagger
(not the other three) will make as much as from a full two-year tour*

*based on my previously stated and obviously correct deduction that Jagger
secretly is one of the promoters

(and therefore suddenly it no longer seems so absurd that there will be some
more shows in 2013. do 5 more shows in nov/dec 2013 and another ppv. perfect.
all they have to do for people to buy into it all over again is put out a
new album. that will make it all seem what-passes-for-legit these days)

EXACTLY. Get ready for this... You ready... I am not buying the PPV... *gasp!* Thats right. $50 is just plain stupid. I will wait and watch it later. Will tune in to the benefit gig tomorrow. Will gladly read reviews online of the PPV gig. But I will not be paying $50 to watch live, when I can wait a few days and pay less. $20 and I would do it.

The other major issue for me is that they did not make the broadcast available on xbox live. If they had, I might heavily consider the $50 to hangout in my beautiful main room with friends, watching in full HD with a perfectly tuned surround sound system. But they decided to go the traditional route and do only TV/cable/satellite broadcast options. The ONLY online option is 'Yahoo', which will be mediocre quality even if it is technically in HD. The stream will be more compressed than other options, and even that one is $40. I'd have to run an HMDI cable from a laptop, which is not a problem, but this just is not a good solution like Xbox live.

We're getting the HD PPV at $44.95. At least 5 of us will be watching, so $9 a pop for front row seats, as it happens, surrounded by pizza, beer and goodies. A broadcast that will also include the Black Keys and two of the biggest stars on the planet in Lady Gaga and Bruce Springsteen. Yeah, what a rip off. I don't know how Mick Jagger sleeps at night.

An even earlier pay event in boxing was the first Ali-Frazier fight in 1971. It was available as closed-circuit TV only in theatres. The equipment didn't work in some places and there were nearly riots.

There's a great scene featuring an earlier PPV boxing match that was shown in theaters in Stephen King's novel about the Kennedy assassination.
