Opening songs in the US?
Posted by: waaghals ()

Knowing the songs the stones rehearsed, what will the Stones openers be for their US shows? Not fade away or around and around? Maybe I wanna be your man with McCartney or Get off my cloud again?

From what we've seen until now is that they tend to open with their older songs.

Any suggestions as to what they should play from their older songbook, but didn't rehearsespinning smiley sticking its tongue out?

Cloud was awsome, far better then IWBYM.

But I hope they'll play Around And Arond or Come On.

Maybe they would pay tribute to US playing some american songs - fx. one Chuck Berry song.

Would love to see anything with the Berry intro - Carol, Let It Rock, Bye Bye Johnny. If they don't want to play chuck's songs anymore, they could always do It's Only Rock and Roll or Star Star.

Funny just thinking Star Star would be the hottest rocker ever to open the show.
A real bad ass rocker from the 1st bad boys of rock.

Definitely, at the very least thinks he's a giant dick. That said, I think he'll always love Chuck's music.

Would be cool to have Take the A Train playing as they take the stage - that worked well in '81.

I thought IWBYM opening was great. I do however see the wierd irony of opening the 50th anniversary shows with a Beatles track though LOL

Given the nods to their history in the first two gigs, I'd say the opener will be what they introduced to America on their first Ed Sullivan appearance: Time Is On My Side.

The Last Time should be the opener. Get Off of My Cloud is a poor choice for an opener.

Or,

She Said Yeah.
