Very good episode.

Still hanging on. This Quinn story is getting a bit claustrophobic. Seems like he's out of the cellar now though...

Quinn really took his babysitter job seriously..

Ha-ha, he sure did and was doing a pretty good job until the journalist arrived. But wow this episode showed how far someone will go to push their agenda. Quite shocking. Makes me wonder how true to political life this show can be.

Creepy.
I had the job description of Carrie's next amour incorrect, he's the FBI dude,
the one that was yelling at her this episode.
So the modern day femme fatale will be courting the FBI, CIA, and Prez elect.
Can't have it all tho, her mommy life is in the pits.

Yeah, and I thought some of my babysitters were intense. It's like a brand new show this season. Very good. Happily there will be a new episode on Sunday despite the Oscars.

Seems like Quinn has regressed once again though...

This one gave me a lot to think about, superb multi faceted angles.
As a woman, it's deep.
My favorite line all season, indeed it was in the season preview clip:
Dar had come to confront Carrie in front of the play yard of her 5 year old daughter's afternoon school, where the child is playing.
He states: 'Stand down, Carrie' implied meaning meant/ capable execution,
and without a breath she immediately replies
'No YOU stand down!'
Fear blazing, but carving with a sharp knife equal ground.

It's just a TV show, but I wanted to reach into that screen and strangle that woman from DFACS. That self righteous- ness is bad for world.

I'm still catching up, but spotted Jake Weber playing the right-wing TV host, Elliott O'Keefe. His father, Tommy Weber, brought him and his brother to Nellecote in '71. There were a few recent references to him here ( [iorr.org] ) and a thread of his own some time ago, here ( [iorr.org] ).

Well, Carrie is clearly the world's worst mother.

Dar = Industrial War Complex.
Grimmer than grim for Carrie but she needs a desperate mommy clue :-(

I can't recall: have we heard in earlier seasons about Dar Adal being a sexual Qumolesting kind of agent? That exchange with Quinn threw me.

There has been a «father and son» (at least that's what I thought)-bond between them all along. Now we know why...

Can't wait for Saul and Carrie to get their chops together for fighting Dar Adal smoking smiley

Also wondering. Am starting to call him Dar Vader, it's getting quite dark.

I thought the Dar Vader bombshell was that he was gay/ and he did say
'for the record, I never forced myself on anyone'

I don't remember Dar being gay or anything. But he's definitely the villain.

Wasn't there more to it tho, 35? Like he says something about Quinn being young and beautiful.

I don't know, reminded here Dar recruited him @ 16 fostercare
(forgot that, but does it matter/typical, isn't this James Bond's story/ Daniel Craig?)
It's all Doom and Gloom, PTSD, none of them can seem to adjust to 'real' life/ get out of the game.

Hmmm, a reminder of the dialogue, regarding Dar:

DAR: You grew up in a hard school, no time for self-pity. It’s the first thing about you that impressed.
QUINN: Not the first thing.
DAR: Yeah, well, we’re all beautiful when we’re young, aren’t we?
QUINN: @#$%& dirty old man.
DAR: Fair enough. For the record, though, I never forced myself on anyone.

Unclear to me whether Dar abused Quinn himself or facilitated the opportunity for someone else to do so.

In any case, this exchange is about the only thing that has grabbed my attention this season. I'm still annoyed at Brody's departure back in Season 3.

He is, on 'Billions' but richer and not a terrorist.

Dandy, I for one am glad he is gone. It's just a personal thing, but I can not bear that actor.

Could've done without that exchange but then again with Dar screwing Saul and Carrie over why stop there, might as well suggest he's a whole different kind of predator!

HA! Just watched last Sunday's 'Billions' and what do I hear?
KEITH RICHARDS!
'Baby trouble is your middle name...'
Trouble/Crosseyed Heart thumbs up

I felt alerted when Brody's name was said. Also made me wonder if he would re-appear. Interesting anyway. Good show.

I didn't want to start another TV thread, so this is actually OT - but has anyone watched "Legion"?
Incredible. In a good way.
