So it's Some Girls, Tattoo You and Undercover...

Cheers.

I love EVERY Stones album actually.

Even A Bigger Bang, loud.

@#$%& the beatles.

IMO, you can't love both.

Yer a Cheater if you do do do...

Get off the fence now, it's creasin' yo butt...

I've got a bounty out on you. I love 'em both. The Beatles are awesome! Take that and stick it in your black limousine!

Well yes, the beatles WERE awesome but the Stones ARE better.

Not left much to be said but cheers...

Better than... what? And why aren't The Beatles still awesome? They are still asesome! Print doesn't change!

The beatles are a bunch of doo wop sissy quitters.

Stones my brother are STILL Rolling...

John died, so did Brian...

Again, Stones are still Rolling and NEVER quit, and the beatles???

Re: What was the last truly great Stones studio album?

Actually John was still alive when they quit, not after.

Come on now, Stones are MUCH better.

That's quite the cop out. In fact, it's the biggest cop out I've seen all year next to Mickscarey complaining about the 2012 set list.

The Beatles, by the way, knew when to quit. And you left out that Harrison died. Oh well. They stopped when it still mattered. The Stones? Well, they kept going WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY after it mattered.

Did you say something?

I see you said something but it's cloudy, as if you've simply ignored a truth in rock'n'roll history.

In case you are not aware, The Beatles never did such trollop as Back To Zero or Rock And A Hard Place or for that matter DIRTY WORK or THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST. Oh - and the Stones are still rolling? What do you call all those years they didn't do anything? You know it's only about the money. At least The Beatles covered that song and didn't perform for it. BAM!

Don't worry. I love 'em both. You just need to grow a bit and learn to admit that too.

Heaven was filler and lots of Undercover was filler

So it's Some Girls?

Yeah for me...I can't think of any filler on that one can you?

When the Whip Comes Down, Lies, Respectable, and the 2nd most over-rated Stones song in history - Shattered. Honourable mention to Everything is Turning to Gold - a throwaway.

You are so incredibly Canadian. I don't know how you live with yourself.

What was the last truly *great Stones studio album?

Some Girls.

Ok, to be fair, I said Bridges. But if I were in fact to be strict and go with the last "truly" great, where the album is a no brainer classic. Then yes, I would say Some Girls.

The last good album is Under Cover. From DW to ABB are all albums that I rarely listen from start to end.

A Bigger Bang, in my opinion a great album; if it would have been released in the seventies without Neocon and Rain falls Down and instead in addition the two outtakes that are on the DVD, it would be a classic one today.

Some Girls outtakes/bonus is a MIRACLE of our times.
how could Mick had those songs AND that concert in the DVD without putting it out?

Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE. I wonder what else is he holding? 100 club gig?

I very much agree with Howled here. Sticky Fingers was probably the last truly great Stones album (although Exile is my favorite album to listen to it has some flaws production wise). You can say it went downhill ever since they left England. I guess Keith's drug habits had a negative impact on the band from then on. They kind of stayed with the 70s though and Tattoo You was their last flash in the pan and a very important record for them since it gave them a new generation of fans.Which enabled The Rolling Stones 2.0: A great tour machine and money maker. Although without real hits or great albums.

Steel Wheels.

While I find a lot of stuff on the later album great, SW is really good as an album. Hardly a weak track (Rock And A Hard Place being borderline...), imo. And, yes, I love Continental Drift and Terrifying - two of the most innovative Stones tracks after WWIII! thumbs up

Seeing that, in reality, there are only a few good songs on it (Spare Parts, Do You Think, Tallahassee, We Had It All), imagine if they had included the really good ones they ignorantly left off.

Some Girls is great but the last truly stupendous one to rank up there in the pantheon of all time greats is Exile On Main Street.

Yeah. What a great double album they could have done in 1978 with SG!! remember they still had Start Me Up and the others later included in Tattoo Tou.
It could have been a MONSTER album, even bigger than it was at its time. (And it was BIG!)

Hmm.

Dirty Work's guitars were loud, raw and rocked hard - can't remember the beatles doing that.

And yes it may be about the $ but I don't really care, I choose to give them some because I want more.

Good for you if you love them both, I wish I could love a band as much but to me, the Stones are much better.

It will always be a rivalry to me, one that I love to fuss and fight about too actually...

Glad yer at peace w/ yerself, I'm not.
