That is just fantastic.

I've never been a big fan of that song live (too draggy).. but that does it justice.

Mick's vocal is spot on.

Beautiful.

great review, Gazza.
It's only rock n' roll, but I like it and guess it's worth the $800...

Great, and accurate, review - and, yes, worth very penny!
The band looked delighted to be there - they realised early on that the crowd was right behind them they really cranked it up - and it was loud!!

If Keith can play then a longer tour is more than likely going to happen. I'm so pleased that everyone had a blast last night. Those of you that attended have to still be buzzing, and the band no doubt has to feel proud to have pulled it off so well. That MT and Bill played was very cool. This dynamic can only improve the more they play. I hope BIll and MT come to the States and do these gigs. Those high priced tickets may sell better if people know Bill and "little Mick" are going to be on stage.

Great reviews everyone. Thanks for giving your time.

And then....lights down....the familiar opening notes flickered, the stage lights came up..and they're into Midnight Rambler - and oh my @#$%& God, Mick Taylor is onstage with them. No introduction, he's just there. And get this, he's performing. You think Mick just stands at the back anonymously like in all those old clips from the 70s? Not tonight. He's gliding across the stage, going up front beside Jagger, and playing off him - and his playing is utterly incredible. Taylor is clearly having the time of his life and the band manage to deliver what was possibly the best version of Midnight Rambler theyve done since....well, since he left the band actually. The absolute showstopper of the night and - whilst it may just be the initial post show euphoria - this could possibly have been the greatest thing I've ever witnessed at a Rolling Stones concert.

Thanks, Gazza - especially for that passage above. Just hoping that these 2 London shows won't be the last time we see Taylor on stage with Rolling Stones

This literally brought tears to my eyes...Thanks Gazza.

I see that there were people at the fence in what should have been the seated section. When were you allowed to leave your seat?

By the way, It's all over now was played in 2007, I think I heard it in Nijmegen.

Yes. LOL

and thanks for the correction. I never updated my setlists page for 2007, so I wasnt sure. I figured I'd heard it at some point since 1995!

Re going to the fence. Forget it! We tried 3 times and got threatened with expulsion. Even during the encore you could not do it. On our side (Keith side) the only people standing at the fence were those who had seats in the front row.

I could not believe how docile the crowd was in A3, even compared to 2007. If lots of people had moved into the aisle for the last few numbers it would have been OK, but everyone stayed absolutely in their pre-designatedplaces...

That show was really good. I think I had tears in my eyes for the 1st 4 or 5 numbers. It went by so quickly. Loved Out of Control and the two new numbers. The sound was a bit crappy to sart with..(I was on the Sky Bar Balcony). MR was excellent although it felt like Mick Taylor was trying to upstage Mick... Wow, wow and wow. I'm so glad I went.

Just finished watching all of the youtube videos (I can't believe how good most of this video looks and sounds), and I am impressed. The band did what I thought couldn't be done - they pulled off an amazing show.

My thoughts:

1) Keith and Ronnie are playing like it's 1982. I haven't seen them concentrate this much on their guitar playing since then. [Wait, Ronnie played like this at the Boogie for Stu thing in 2010, but that was without Keith.] I respect hard work, and there was much more work and a lot less posing. They seemed to be putting everything they had into it.

2) Mick's vocals. I don't remember him sounding this good in ages.

3) The arrangements are far better than anything I've heard in a while (again, 1982 at least). Guitar-centered, not horn- and piano-centered. I guess you can do that if your two guitarists are going all in.

4) Only disappointment was not having MT and BW on stage at the same time (and for more songs).

P.S. I just read Gazza's review (spot on) and he covered all of these points, but I took the time to type this, so here it is.

Nice review Gazza...good to catch up with you again in the Pilot.
What I've heard today has made it even more necessary for me to score a ticket for Thursday...and probably more difficult, too.

Fingers crossed!
