Mick, Keith and Ronnie talk to Jo Whiley and Huey Morgan.

"As we say in England, it can get a bit trainspottery"

Wow, I wasn't expecting the interview to focus so much on parenting. Thanks for sharing Deltics I actually enjoyed this. Keith actually made me laugh in a good way a few times. Ronnie doesn't seem to listen to the questions well, but it was interesting talking about him recently writing with Keith.

The interviewer prefaces the question with "When you first joined the band, you kind of felt like you were joining the family - how's the family?"
Ronnie isn't confused guys, me thinks you are.grinning smiley

Thanks very much for putting up the interview Deltics, really fun to see them all so relaxed and looking great.

Thanks so much, Deltics. I managed to miss the Red Button stuff on Saturday night, and it's well worth seeing! I now have this mental image of Mick spending hours and frustrating hours trying to get the gremlins out of a primitive Apple Mac. And love the bit where Keith talks about the "magic ingredient" in the room with the four of them - "It's there between ourselves - it's already in the room, but he doesn't have a name and we don't pay him nothing!"

Thanks for posting. Father knows best. I just idly checked and found Turbogeist actually has a single for sale on iTunes. The sample didn't sound bad.

Cheers Deltics, that was good.

Ronnie's "We've got some great surprises up our sleeves" sounds interesting. Looking forward to Sunday!

Keiths talks about family in a strange way...

At this pace he will end up conducting an evangelical tv show...

I'm liking the fact that Ronnie says something to the effect that the celebrations are set to continue well into next year.

Good times ahead

No shit. I don't think Keith was expecting that either. I mean, he starts out saying warmly, but rather dismissively, "Yeah, well, face it we, um, all come from a family," but Huey the interviewer was all "So *I* just became a DAD!!! and I need to talk more about FAMILY!" Leading Keith, putting words in his mouth, trying to nominate him for Dad of the Year. Huey didn't seem particularly to know all that much about Keith -- asserting how at Nellecote Keith "always put family first" etc...not quite true...and not quite what was said in the Exile documentary. I love how nonsentimental Keith is about it. Ah well...that family segment...l'il odd.

Keith looks great tho. And Mick too -- Woody too.

Sorry to keep venting (I'm watching this now). What a lamesass question "What's your favorite book?" Again, if this guy Huey knew Keith or had done his homework he would know Keith isn't a "Let Me Trot Out My Top 5" kind of guy.

And THEN-----saying he wants to talk about the blues----trotting out that ham-handed fabrication of "the first time I heard a guitar riff--it was Satisfaction--and I lost it and ran home and tore the low E string off my guitar, and tuned it in Open G!"

What in the blanky heck?! I feel bad for Keith, having to be interviewed by someone like this, and as ever impressed by how gracious he is.

How did he ever get this gig, I wonder?

What do you-all think Keith and Woody had in their glasses?

Loved the quote that Green Lady cited too - v. much!

I had the same feeling. It is good to hear our boys say interesting things, even though
they happen to be interviewed by a lame ass like that.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

I guess keith's nutritionists and doctors got him straightened out, because he looks better now than he did on the last tour. The tour will tell though.

Full Keith radio interview with Huey Morgan here:

It got edited and rearranged for TV and the questions feel a bit more sensible in their proper radio context.
