I've said they don't really care about the music anymore. They've always had respect for their fans.

Hilarious. One day you guys are up in arms about the high ticket prices, saying that they don't care about the fans. And now you guys are saying they're so good to their fans. Does this mean they are forgiven?
Cmon BV,of course it was a PR stunt, maybe not in the traditional sense of regular press, and photographers, but you were there and you run one of the top Rolling Stones boards in the net,and what a coincidence that they did this on the day you were there?,and look at the great effect that this stunt has had on this board and all the others that have reproduced your glowing review of that mini concert, lots of folks that were bitching and moaning about ticket prices, have already forgotten that issue.Perhaps l am too jaded to believe that it was an innocent gesture by the band to be "nice" to the 32 of you that were there yesterday, but l don't buy it. In conclusion l am very happy that they did it and that you and the others got in and got a glimpse,of the band that most of us mere mortals will never be able to do...Quote

There were exactly 32 happy fans on that list of names of people who were allowed in. Plus a handful other guests up at the balcony. I recognized most of these fans also today, at the final rehearsals date in Paris. Rain or shine. It was a nice gesture and certainly not a PR stunt, because there were no photos, no press. Simply joy among the fans.

Yes you are jaded. You must really be in some kind of delusional world if you think the Stones planned that event just so BV could attend and then tell everyone here. If you notice...BV did not start this thread: another fan who may/may not have been at the rehearsal started this thread. There is one other member who went and posted about it.. Are you saying the Stones' crew knew exactly who these members were? Ridiculous.
And what exactly is the "great effect" that this stunt created? A thread with 6 pages? Big deal. Do you see anyone swallowing their pride and "forgetting the issue" and buying $800 tickets to finally see the Stones? Nope. Nothing's changed. It's one little positive thread--without any bullshit. It's not rocket science.

it is pretty damn cool that they allowed fans in to a rehearsal. Certainly a once in a lifetime event for the lucky fans who got in!
Then your writing here is just a big PR stunt, when you say hello to people on the street, calling your mom, having a birthday etc. - it is a just a big PR stunt. Nothing truly behind it - just false behaviour.Quote

What's the deal with rockstars, politicians and black Mercedes S 600:s? What's wrong with your average Peugeot or Volvo?
mtaylor.. is your right to believe and drool over this,as is mine to think it was a publicity stunt, regardless those that attended had a great time and in the end thats what really counts,as far as your "thief" analogy is way off..Quote

As we say - "a thief thinks everybody is a thief".
Indeed BV,l have no contact whatsoever with the inside of the band and even less do l pretend to know what they think, but l am entitled to my opinion as you are to yours, have a nice day..Quote

I happen to know the whole story how this happened. Those who claim this event was a PR stunt live on another planet or at least they have very little contact with the inside of the band and how they think, act and do their own decitions.

Not trying to bash ROPENI, I think he is entitled to his opinion, but I have been checking the internet for stories from the press about this event and I've seen nothing yet. Maybe there has been something about it in Europe, but the media has not picked up the story here in the US, as far as I can tell. If it was a PR stunt I am sure we would have seen it in some of the mainstream media outlets.
I don't think we need to pick it apart, it seems to have been just a very nice gesture to the fans. Congratulations again to BV, and all the devoted fans that got a once in a lifetime treat.
