Morph 38 - "Appy Birthday Dear Nickie

Saturday I received the new Sister Morphine release of the Perth 2/24/73 show. For those of you who appreciate the work the Good Sister does all I can say is this is my favorite boot of all time! Don't hesitate to get this one. You will put all other versions you own of this show on ebay after you hear this one!

Nice touch of adding Drift Away at the end in tribute to Nicky Hopkins.

Just so I can gain some perspective with your opinion, did you get the last one "Superfonic Seattle"? If so, give me your opinion on this as well. Thanks!

Half Nanker,

I passed on Seattle. Don't much care for the 81 tour to be honest. What clips I did hear of it didn't change my mind. Wasn't impressed.

No, sorry that wasn't the point. You sound committed to the label and I wanted your opinion of that title. The concert, tour and recording are fine. SM should be absolutely embarrassed by that one. I really enjoyed their titles until the last few. Their choice of releases has gotten progressively questionable and Cool Cool Hand has completely lost his grip. Or would that be touch... The Perth show has long been a favorite of mine too. I'm just wondering if they screwed this one up too. Thanks.

Not to piss in yer pint glass, but the concensus I've heard about the Nickie release is that it's just recycled shy-te. I mean, it was already a soundboard recording. I've got a cart-kicking version of the concert and I don't quite understand why anybody would be interested in shelling out money just so they can have an already available version of "Drift Away."

who shells out money for this stuff anyway? These days - if your're not bit-torrenting, you're just sorta out the loop, I think.

Hey guys,

If you have a title of Perth you like, or if you only trade and don't buy any originals, that works for me. This post was intended to provide one man's opinion of a release for those who might be considering picking it up.

And Stonestod, many collector's, myself included, like to have originals of the releases we really like. For you to say people who buy anything are "out of the loop", really says more about you than the people you criticise.

Did Cool Cool Cool Cool Hand manage to make it sound like 90's Aerosmith again?

just "sorta" out of the loop. obviously not intended for the purists like yourself, Roger! Just offering an opinion for many who aren't hooked on free and legal bit-torrenting downloading, like myself!

Just outside Amsterdam C's, there's a little man who looks like an under assistant west coast promo man. He'll help you find anything. Even Zemen Wambuis clogs!!!!

I'm not impressed with the quality of computer
downgrades, plus when most folks burn them to disc
from these on their computer, they've got glitches,
digi noise, skips etc, if you listen carefully.
Most folks will deny this but it's usually the case.
I'd gladly settle for a cdr copy made on a freestanding
hhb burner using good quality blank discs. Just my opinion.
