I'd tend to say the middle of the pit looks ok ?

I think about halfway down the pit, backed right up too one of the sidewalls, would give you a decent view and safer, you only have too worry about people in front of you.

I think the stage will be not that high like the SB stage. as i can see there were no barriers at the Superbowl. so guess that's why the stage is high. now there will be a barrier and there will be security in front of the barrier(s).

My only concern over the height is how do the 300 -500 (?) people get in and out of it . There must be some sort of access and if so I can't see health and safety allowing anything under 6'6" to walk under .

On the use of the word pit....officially it is referred to as "unreserved standing", but I have had nightmares about looking up from the bottom of some kind of "wall of death" pit ! Won't have to wait long now.eye popping smiley

If the view is restricted in any way the o2 are gonna have a riot on their hands !

Access/egress interests me also. I hope it isn't too high!

Maybe they will have some sort of bridge/humps built into the walkway bit of the tongue ? Are you up for some rioting Tom ? For the money we've spent we should be stood on Charlie's Drum riser !

Right and being 6'3" I won't be too much of a nuisance to people behind me like that.

Good point about the access to the pit, it can't be too low, unless there is a "bridge" of sorts.

Looking at the SB footage I was struck at how little use they made of it really. In fact other than Mick who can sing at a distance, I guess it's a bit hard for the others to be too far away from each other, or at least have them in their field of view, unless it's an extended solo or something. I'm sure there are some surprises in store...

At one point I wrote a long post like that.... it didnt get one reply.

All this shaped stage does is put a nasty, sardine packed, over flowing pit in front of the stage while it pushes the real front row much further away.... and if the guys do not spend much time out front, as they didnt in the Super bowl, then what the hell is the point? No to mention, do we really want these old guys runing around on narrow ramps? More than one aging rockstar (e.g. Steven Tyler) has tumbled off, and injured themselves, walking these narrow ramps.

A regular shaped stage would be fine.....
but then again.... they can do what ever the hell they wnat.

Well, if you put it like THAT ... I ought to be bloody glad in that case that I abandoned my search for one such pit ticket and deferred to the lower tiers !!

Both nighs in London. I think may be there will be a lot of familiar faces in that pit. May be it will be a bit like Hollywood Bowl. I would not mind that. The Edge was sitting next to me, he would not be in the pit now of course, but it will be a nice place to be. With friends.

Yep, it looks like it's becoming a habit, a good one ;-) If the pit tickets for the 29th "drop" like they're currently doing for the 25th I think I'll have to come back!

If you have long arms and a strong will, then I am sure you will be able to handshake with at least two of the six RS band members when you are in the pit...

Sorry...meant to be more specific, I'm on my own on the 25th (not in the pit) but Pam and I are both in there for the 29th. I'm also going to the 15th Dec.

Based on what I've read a few of us got in during the FB presale, maybe a few VIP packages and others through secondary sellers.

The only reason I passed is that I can't make it to the arena until later in the day. The VIP package people get early entry, so they take all the rail spots (until the lights go down), but I think you guys should arrive as early as possible, just in case promoters have oversold the pit. I've been to lots of shows where the pit was true VIP, with lots of room to spare - Live 8 was like that, and usually Golden Circle tickets at Hyde Park's Hard Rock Calling leave tons of room for VIPs to strech out. But, knowing the Stones . . .

Should be fun. I'm in A3, row 1 on the 29th, so I'll look jealously over the walkway at all you guys! Can't wait to hear the reports on Mick and Bill. In some ways, I'm tempted to try to keep away from the internet, so that everything will be a surprise on Thursday, but I know that ain't gonna happen.
