Well I don't think we've by any means seen the last of that; suspect there'll be a lot more stuff going at below face/cost in the end, and hence at a loss for the seller. My sentiments ? GOOD !! Hope they get burned, and badly so at that !! Might think twice about scalping in the future .... !!

I think people are prepared to pay about £500 for a pair and that seems to be the going rate for anything that isn't too close to the stage.

Still waiting for the pit tickets to be driven down though!

Seems to be so, yes. I just looked again on Seatwave, still showing 81 pit tickets available for the 25th, but as you say ..... not at £1K thanks all the same

I am just wondering if they really would have those 81 tickets at all if you would go for the total number. Or do they try to keep up the 1k£ price for one ticket by holding higher prices at 4 grant. It might be a weird idea but I just cannot believe that there are so many hundreds of people inside the tongue, for sure not due to security reasons.

Good question. I really do not know. Right now for example there are 81 pit tickets on SEATWAVE, 41 on VIAGOGO, 12 on GETMEIN, some more on STUBHUB, GUMTREE, EBAY. Are these all different tickets, are some of them the same that are just advertised in several places, I do not really know to be quite honest ? But if you do the arithmetic, 81 + 41 + 12 alone is 134. Taking into account the allocation that Mark Butler Associates had, then those that were bought through Ticketmaster in the Facebook presale, that surely accounts for the total capacity of the pit, which I think people on here are estimating at 300-350 ?

If that's even vaguely correct, it means that something approaching 50 percent of all pit tickets have never ever been offered at the face value price of £375 plus charges (£406), they've either been tied up with a £1000 VIP package or else they've put straight onto the secondary market at seriously inflated prices. As you say, right now those prices are still hovering at £1000.

Personally, I think it's gross market manipulation, operating with a total lack of transparency. In as much as I AM looking for a pit ticket for the 25th, and currently have a choice of a cool 134 tickets, I'm absolutely buggered if I'm paying what is currently being asked.

£400-450 ? just about OK. More than that ? F**k off !! winking smiley

It is after all ............ "only rock n' roll" !! I do like it, even LOVE it, but can definitely do without it at more than £400 per shot !!

@Paulywaul: thumbs up I like your calculations. I assume that Mark Butler would have around 50-60 of each segment he's offering each night. I did not go for the pit for the first night and when I wanted to change it was already sold out. I do have pit for the 29th but that's another story and I do know that I paid way to much, but with booking flights etc etc, my calculation tells me that despite the high ticketprices I was able to average my other travel costs because of advance booking.
I am thinking now much to loud, but I assume that Pit prices will only decrease once they have sold more of the seated tickets. It still seems that seatwave is doing business and sells tickets every day because when you go to the chart underneath the seating map it also tells you the recent sales.

Interesting, the chart shows that the average selling price was £581 on 21st October, and ever since then it has been falling steadily and is now £451 - as of 11th November.

And I'm sure it will continue falling further .............. GOOD !!! winking smiley

at the moment, on getmein, there are 2 tix for the 29th at 200£ for block 401 (crap). that's the cheapest price I've seen since everything started.
I'm not interested in them (looking for FOS, already have the flight booked), just to let you know.

The number of tickets for the NJ shows on Stubhub is increasing. Now, 2570 tickets for 12/13 and 2072 tickets for 12/15. Up by nearly 10% from a few days ago.

So to what do you attribute this, as a matter of interest ? On this side of the pond, I'm just rather puzzled by the fact that as the day of the first show draws ever closer, the number of tickets going up for sale in some quarters does actually seem to be increasing ? Surely it should be the other way round ........... shouldn't it ?

Not always. It sometimes happens when a new show is announced and people decide that they would rather attend the new show. For example, Brooklyn on a Saturday over NJ on a Thursday.

I think that there will be tons of seats available for these shows, but offer one word of caution re the UK shows. If the first show at the O2 is amazing, I would expect tickets for the show on the 29th to sell very quickly. I have seen this happen quite a few times. A group puts on a great show and all of the sudden everyone who went to the first show wants to experience it a second time. If the Stones suck on the first night, I would expect prices for the 29th to drop!

No, neither can I. What I can see though, is just a bunch of optimists behind those 81 or however many tongue pit tickets it is, relentlessly clinging on to their £1K and more asking prices until the very last moment, and then god knows what happens ? Either they do finally cave in and drop those prices, or perhaps they don't - and it becomes a case of NO SALE !! In which case, if you're already in the tongue pit, maybe it won't be quite as crowded as it could be ........ cool smiley

This is bizarre, SEATWAVE.CO.UK is now showing 80 GA tongue pit tickets available for the 25th, that's the most there's ever been since tickets when on sale whenever it was back in October ? Where the blazes have these suddenly come from ? Weird !

Still asking over £1K, so I ain't gonna be biting yet ....

Another day closer, and the list of available tongue pit tickets continues to grow ... it's now gone up to 83 ?

At this rate, come weekend after next (24th/25th), there'll be hundreds of the bloody things .......... winking smiley

Now on Ticketmaster for the 25th date for anyone that's interested:

Section BK 107
Row A

£406 price band.

I think there are others being put on there because I was offered some in the £300 or so price band also.

ANYBODY WANT TWO, TOGETHER, for the Dec 13 show in Newark?

These are $500 seats that I paid a guy $100 to pull for me. I just want to get my cash out of them.

They are in:

Section 133
Row 6
Seats 13 & 14.

I need $1,100 for the pair.

Thanks!

They were actually the very same tickets that have been on SEETICKETS for days now. Presumably one ticket agency was having a hard time shifting them, so the other stepped in. And so it goes ............

I'm sure there will be any number of further small drops on TM here and there over the remaining 10 days

Yup, noticed that myself. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the point in time where all remaining packages or whatever that haven't sold to date, and all the smaller allocations to agencies other then TM that also haven't sold - these tickets now all get sucked back into TM, and it could well be these that we now begin to see dropped in small clutches over the remaining days.

Justy a theory, but a reasonable one I think. Certainly those few tickets that were available on TM over the last few hours have been the first in a good many days ....

I agree, though I don't think you will see the truly great seats appear until next week. There are probably still some crappy seats hanging around and they will want to shift those first.

I genuinely admire your optimism, belief and your refusal to pay over the odds for dire seats. I hope you get your pit standing ticket because it would be well deserved. smiling smiley

Not sure we'll have see "great seats", let alone pit tix, drop, but they certainly still have some crap to shift as I just found on TM :

I'm from the Paulywaul mould. Believe and it will happen. For the second O2 gig in 2007 I got A block row F right next to the walkway bit where the stage wheeled out. This was three days before the gig. I can't believe all the pit standing have gone, as it would seem the majority were on sale at £950 a pop, and it will be interesting to see how they are distributed. They make simply appear on TM or be offered to existing ticket holders on the night as an upgrade.
