Grrr indeed! I was just about to bite the proverbial and buy one of the halfway decent 1st tier tickets from seetickets.com

When I pressed "buy tickets" they added a 2.31 "transaction charge" to make a grand total of 408.31 GBP

That was it - the straw that broke the camels back!
I'll be outside offering 50 quid both nights

Sorry just wanted to spread the anger

Don't be right outside the O2, they're v hot on ticket touting in and around the venue and they do enforce their will, read back through this thread to see a discussion about it. Best get yourself sorted before you turn up at the venue, because by then you'll pretty much be at the mercy of box office availability, not touts - because they'll be hard to spot.

Tickets for the US shows are selling on Stubhub - total available tickets has dropped 5-10% for both nights. Still 2400 available for the 13th and 1900 for the 15th.

What's the capacity of the Prudential ? 20,000 odd, about the same as the O2 ? Jeez, whichever way you look at it, 4,300 tickets across both night bought speculatively and marked up in price, that's a LOT !!

Yes, Paul, the O2 ushers were indeed offering 'free upgrades' at that show.

Thanks, well maybe we'll see the same again this time ?

Hi Paul, Will there be any ticket selling by the pilot pub? is this on 02 land?

I was thinking just to go to the box office, though presumably that will still be face value - but maybe I can get A2 row A or even standing
Or what about in the pub (the pub inside the 02, that is)
Or maybe in the station?
I think there's going to be some pretty desperate touts so they must be somewhere.
Anyone have any first hand knowledge?

Good question. The O2 arena I'm 99.99% sure would have no jurisdiction in and around the Pilot Inn, but as to whether the location is frequented by scalpers ... I don't know is the answer I'm afraid.

Anyone else know ?

All I can tell you is based on my own experiences and observations, which is that North Greenwich station, the area between it and the O2, and the lobby area of the O2 itself - are all devoid of scalpers. That's because it's private land, they forbid it, they have people out looking for scalping activity going on, and they get on peoples' cases when they spot it. Consequently, if you turn up actively looking for scalpers, I personally can't tell you where to look; i.e. where they hang out so as not to attract the attention of the venue enforcers - I genuinely do not know. But wherever it is, it isn't immediately obvious, so just be aware of that before you turn up in the expectation that there'll be loads of them in plain view - because there won't be, I can tell you that much !!

Thanks Paul

I suppose it's not too much trouble for me (I live in London) so I can go there and see what's what, ask at the Box Office, and if I don't get any joy I can go to the cinema or have a look see what's on at O2 Indigo or have a drink and a Thai meal

Personally, I think you'll get what you need at face value, you just gotta play this absurd waiting game. it's less than two weeks to go now, there's still absolutely shedloads on offer among all the secondary sites and ebay, it's just that people are still relentlessly clinging to the notion that they'll be able to sell tickets at a significant profit. It's beginning to dawn on a lot that this may well not be the case, and that in turn is beginning to be reflected in the increasing number of occurences of the wording "FACE VALUE" associated with some of the ebay and gumtree listings ... so keep the faith. I don't see any reason for (excuse the pun) doom n' gloom !!

I wouldn't count the Pilot Inn as an obvious place for scalpers to hang out, as it's not good for passing trade. It's too far away from the O2 and most people probably don't even know of its existence. Back in 2007, it was about the only place around the whole area, but that's all changed now that the O2 itself is full of eating and drinking places.

If you listen carefully, I think you can hear the collective moan from all the scalpers who are trying to sell tickets at inflated prices to the Newark shows. The Stones just added a concert on Dec. 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. I bet everyone who has been waiting for the prices to drop at the Pru Center will now jump on the chance to buy face value tickets to Barclay show.

I turned up after a 250 mile journey for the last o2 show in 2007. Got talking to someone at the Pilot Inn who knew someone who knew someone which lead to me meeting a German guy who had bought a fan asylum package for himself and his girlfriend. I think she preferred shopping so I bought the spare for around £200. A1 ROW 10 2hrs before show time.

Box office on the day of the show. Ticketmaster in the days before the show. But sometimes it doesn't work out, and you have to accept that risk.

Seatwave.co.uk Monday 12th November 20:00 UK time

25th - 78 pit tickets available
29th - 63 pit tickets available

Lowest price - £900 (less fees) - for the 25th.

Observation - this is the MOST pit tickets that have been available on this site for the last three weeks, so I don't know where the hell these tickets are coming from, but they are adding to the number available. As for the prices being asked, the lowest is currently £900, but that figure was £924 24 hours ago, so the movement is unquestionably DOWNWARDS, albeit slowly.

For those of us still after a pit ticket for either one or both dates, I'd say hold your nerve, and keep a watchful eye out, because things are undeniably moving in out favour - little by little. The price is coming down, and the availability is going up ............ !!

Thank you for teh advice. I have £850 set aside (from my house deposit savings) ready to buy two pit tickets at face value. I already have two tickets in Block 107 but am hoping to acquire standing tickets so I have a couple of days to get rid of my seats to someone without ripping them off. I am checking Ticketmaster several times per day.

I e-mailed the O2 today asking about returns and a possible waiting list but they said there were currently none and they would be put on the Ticketmaster system anyway. Sorry if you all knew how this works anyway but I have only seen the Stones on the Bigger Bang tour and demand wasn't quite this high for the UK shows then.

I am desperate to be close to them after nosebleed seats at both Twickenham and the O2 in 2006 and 2007. I am 27 and have missed out on many of the opportunities you guys will have undoubtedly had!

The secret to this game that we regrettably find ourselves being forced to play, is from hereon to pay a lot of attention to what is available on ebay, and what is available on the secondary (re-selling) sites, like GETMEIN, SEATWAVE, VIAGOGO. Check, and check often !! We're now in the crucial "countdown" period with less than two weeks to go, so let me try and explain what basically happens - lets say what "typically" happens ....

A - a lot of "packages" (VIP/hotel & show) tend to get dismantled. They've been available for sale for lets say several weeks, and those that remain unsold due to being overpriced and hence not of great interest get broken up. That means that the tickets effectively get fed back into the market as normal tickets. Ideally, they should get fed back into the system through the primary agencies like TM and SEE, but what for example I noticed yesterday night and this morning, is that on SEATWAVe (a secondary site), the availability of tongue pit tickets for both London gigs suddenly went up from about 40 to 70 for the 25th and by slightly less than that for the 29th ? Now the question is, where the hell have these tickets been over the preceding weeks ? Tied up with packages ? Never made available in the first place, in other words deliberately witheld by the promoter ? Where ? Well, we don't rightly know, but either way, they have been added to the existing stock, so as a consequence - the day(s) of the show(s) draws ever closer, the availability of a certain category of ticket curiously goes up, and it also should not escape your attention - that albeit little by little, the price is going down. It's still hovering at £900 per ticket, but it is on the way down.

B - I would suggest that if your plan is to grab pit tickets and then rid yourself of your block 107 tickets, do not leave it too late. If you were to find yourself say - 24 hours before the show trying to get rid of 2 x block 107 tickets, you might just find you've got yourself a lot of competition. The reason I say that, is because block 107 tickets at face value (£406) are for example still available through SEETICKETS right now as I write, weeks and weeks after ticket sales started. That should tell you something; which is that there is not necessarily a super duper demand for them. They ain't selling that well ! So just get your timing right, and hopefully you'll get the result you want.

I'm in kind of a similar predicament myself. I have 2 x block 113 and am after a pit ticket. If I get one, I'll be selling those 2, but I'm not going to leave it till a mere 24 hours before the show, I'll simply have to commit one way or the other at least a couple of days before the show, either get a pit ticket at whatever price and try and sell those - OR simply admit defeat in my search and occupy those seats.

That's it ............ good luck (to us both I guess) !!

If I can offer one piece of advice after 35 years or so of this, it would be - once you have bought your tickets, forget about other tickets being offered for sale and, by all means, resist the urge to upgrade. Do something else productive with your time. Look forward to the show and enjoy it.

Otherwise, 80-90% of the time, if you grab something closer for face value, it is very difficult to sell the tix you have left in the few hours or even days before the show. Trust me, I have made a lot of Stones fans pretty happy over the years with my last minute ticket sales . . . . . . sad smiley

Absolutely agree, no truer thing said - and it applies particularly in this case because the face value prices are so high initially. So timing is everything. If you are going to take the plunge and upgrade late in the day, make sure you've either pre-arranged to get rid of that which you've already bought at an agreed price to a friend or family or whatever, or otherwise factor in enough time to sell on the open market. Otherwise, you'll likely get stuck with it/them ....

In worst case, I can deal with the tickets I already have being a lost cause - it would be a shame for them to go to waste but if I can get hold of standing for a price I can afford I could deal with it - but I would try my hardest to get them to fans somewhere (anyone but touts).

In terms of doing something else with my day before the gig, it's Michael Schumacher's final Formula 1 race at 4pm and I'll be watching in my hotel room across the river. So it's a huge day for me as I say goodbye to one of my heroes, others are making a return!

I contacted Eventim today and their alocation has gone and they will not be putting more on sale through returns or extra releases etc, so that's one less website we can check constantly.

Ticketmaster and the O2 box office on the day seems to be the only hope in terms of face value now.
