"I can afford it"...

...is a recurring sentence on the ticket price threads and I find it annoying. There, had to say it.

Yes the RICH SNOBS can afford it.

Otherwise it's a waste of money. But I'm not telling you anything you didn't know.

C'mon Jagger - give us a FREE concert!!!! Don't be a greedy old man.

When I used "I can afford it", I didn't want it to sound that way. I meant that I was not jeopardizing my current life or starving by using that much money on shows.

Still, it's a lot of money, and it means that I will have to postpone other projects. Not having a family is probably an important factor in my choice. Also the fact that I have no travel or hotel expenses to add.

I truly feel sad that many friends and fans will remain at the door for financial reasons. I really hope the cheaper tickets appear in the next weeks.

GWEN: How much are you paying to see The Stones (if you don't mind me asking)?

Well, 2 x £400 - it's silly when I convert it to euros... I originally planned to see them in the US but this would really be too much.

Warren Buffet can afford it, but - were he a fan who wanted to go - I bet he wouldn't pay it.

I think, people who say "i can afford it" are just trying to say that they are exercising their right NOT to pay for a product that is just not worth it; it has nothing to do with ability to PAY; it has to do ability to say NO to, what many percieve, is not a value. I have used the phrase not to suggest anything other than I choose not to support this tour, this time.

Of course not, if he was a fan he would shell out a few millions to book them for friends.

even if I could afford the $800 seats that came up, i still would not buy them. $800 to sit on the opposite field from the stage??? No way!

Got that right. He knows his price and sticks to it. That's a value investor. Like playing the lottery, it's usually the people who cannot afford it end up playing or going to a concert at any cost.

Exactly what he said. I could afford it easily. I could also take the same amount of cash and have a hell of a fireworks show in my back yard. Both I find a complete waste.

EVERYBODY HAS $800.... WHO DOESNT??!!

JUST NOT EVERYBODY IS FOOL ENOUGH TO WASTE IT ON A 2 HOUR CONCERT

I WOULDNT PAY $800.OO FOR A SHITTY BALCONY SEAT IF ELVIS, JANIS, JIMI, JESUS CAME BACK AND DOG WERE PLAYING WITH THEM.

FKN 800 BUCKS FOR A BALCONT SEAT??... THAT IS FOOLISH.

A fool and his money were lucky to get together in the first place.

I have to pick my vacations a year in advance for work. Coincidentally I am on vacation the week of the Newark shows. That's why I'm going. If there are shows next year they may not coincide with my schedule. It will be worth the extra money if Taylor and Wyman show up. A once in a lifetime event!

Valid points Steverogan. I believe those fans who say "i can afford it" have just as much right to say that as those who say the ticket prices are way too high and they aren't going. That being said, we do have some posters who think whatever they say should be the final word, lol.

That is what people are going to say as they walk to their balcony seats.

I can't afford it and I'm not sure I'd go of I could but I don't have a problem with people saying 'I can afford it' whether they buy tickets or not.

To be honest if i were rich (I mean lottery rich) I pay whatever they asked for a front row seat and even more if I got to meet the band.

If the Stones knew you were rich then they'd charge you more. Sad but true.
