4 warhorses. Not bad.

I count 6:
IORR
Miss You
SMU
MR
TD
JJF
BS

Midnight Rambler isnt played often enough to be a 'warhorse'.

Very predictable closing few songs but as they havent played in five years, getting some of the rust out of the engine is more important than what they played at a show like this I guess.

First performance of 'Route 66' since Cologne '99 on the closing night of the Bridges/No security tour.

probably the best show they've played in...what...5 years, maybe?

It's possible. Well, no matter, in five years, yes, but after this, well then it's not in five years... it's ...oh wait, it's been over five years actually so...

I guess, yes, since they've only done one show now in five plus years since the last one...

You have a very firm grasp of the obvious!

Now we know why MightyTrollin50 hasn't been around (aside from being banned) - he's obviously this GRRRegory thing...

Ok, nothing ground breaking, but nice to know the wheels are in motion again!

<<< nothing ground breaking >>>

My sentiments entirely. I only hope they throw a few absolute gems into the O2 setlists, preferably obscure ones.

Yeah I know, fat chance - right ?

Certainly you've got no expectations, do you?

That would do nicely now you mention it, I'd luuuuuuuuuuuuurv to hear THAT !!

As long as I don't let go it will always be firm. Or something.

I'll take a short warhorse club show over a full setlist stadium show any day of the week--in person or on a recording. These guys gain something when they stand 3 feet apart from each other on a theatre/club stage.

My son has never seen the Stones, but is coming to the O2 with me on the Sunday.

Tonight he was following the setlist by playing live versions of the songs, as they were posted on Twitter, trying to imagine what it was like.

Quite innovative for a 16 year old I thought.

rambler is a warhorse. you need to apply a little math. it's twice as long as most other warhorses, so each time it's played, you have to apply a factor of two to it....ok? thanks...

I'm looking forward to hearing reviews from those who managed to get in. But I am sure they will be pumped with adrenalin and didn't listen for every detail (and rightfully so).

Did someone say who all was on stage? I missed it if they did.

No Blondie I'm guessing. Or backing singers.

IORR is the 8th most performed Stones song ever. 'Midnight Rambler' has only been played at about 30% of the shows played since it was released.

Tonight was, by my calculations, the 600th Stones live performance of Miss You. its in 11th place despite being only released in 1978. Start Me Up is higher mostly because Miss You was dropped for much of the Licks tour.

The Top Baker's Dozen (including tonight's show, number of performances in brackets, correct to +/- about five or ten places, especially for songs that were performed before 1967)

1. Jumpin' Jack Flash (1,028)
2. Brown Sugar (998)
3. Honky Tonk Women (967)
4. Satisfaction (954)
5. Tumbling Dice (952)
6. Start Me Up (743)
7. Sympathy For The devil (719)
8. IORR (694)
9. Street Fighting Man (661)
10. You Cant Always Get What You Want (615)
11. Miss You (600)
12. Not Fade Away (570)
13. Midnight rambler (538)

'Not Fade Away' being so high might surprise some people as most only remember it from the 1994-95 tour. However, after its release in early 1964 it appears to have been in the set all of that year (the Stones played 322 shows in 1964!), on the Aussie tour in early 1965 and throughout 1966 before being dropped until 1994.

Just had a phone call from a French colleague of mine who attended, said Keith was playing better than five years ago.

Anyone else who was in there care to comment ?
