This just hit me - could Theatre Mogador be for the video shoot? And they'll do another secret gig elsewhere in Paris?

I say this because they did a video shoot in Ottawa Canada years ago. Their people gathered up many young, pretty people and these people got to see the Stones. Many of the people weren't even fans, at least not before seeing the Stones.

Just a thought........

the first gig might be for the video and the second only for the money !!!

Hi All, Visited Mogador last night and checked some info. They were not suprised when I spoke about the Stones, but rather well briefed on how to disclose any information on private meetings/reservations like the Carmignac one.

Today I'll check some more stuff,

I doubt anyone will who isnt on the guest list of Carmignac.

I'd be surprised if any public tickets are available for this - they never have been for corporate shows in the past.

It could be, of course, that there are two warm up shows in Paris in the next week or so, as theres been plenty of rumours about one on the 25th with talk that this one WILL have some availability to the public.

As I told in other thread (shooting a video...) tickets are available the same day, so I think this Mogador gig is another one and there will be 2 gigs in Paris. I know (well.. I know because someone told me) a gig in a small theatre in Paris next week.
Another possibility is my source doesnt want give me more clues and told me some information wrong because don't want to be in trouble with the Stones.

Regarding the 'guest list' - I wasn't on the guest list for Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern but I got in. Sometimes you merely have to be kind and polite for things to work out.grinning smiley

That said.....I'd be betting on TWO warm-up gigs in Paris. Then, back to rehearsals for a few more weeks before the London shows.

True! grinning smiley Actually, I got a tip-off that guitars, etc. were being hauled into the Horsehoe Tavern. My husband and I got there at 3pm. Once we were in, we were in. I asked the security who's playing here tonight, and he said "No one is booked". So, we just stayed put!

With the Stones, ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

This is true, but that was a public gig - I specifically meant private, corporate gigs - ie like the one in Vegas Nov 2002, the Pepsi gig in Hawaii in 1998 and the Deutsche Bank gig in Barcelona in 2007.

With regard to the latter, I suppose we should have saw the writing on the wall with that one. We're complaining about the Stones not being 'fan friendly' on their 50th anniversary shows. They marked their 45th anniversary as a band (the gig took place on 12th July 2007) with a private concert - for bankers. eye rolling smiley

Gazza, with all respect......that's a mistaken notion. The Horsehoe Tarvern was supposed to be ONLY for media types. A few "fans" did manage to get in. But by 5pm, the doors were locked and we were locked in. After 5pm, all the media and other groups (Blue Rodeo) were let in.

It was broadcast live for an American Music Awards ceremony.

ETA: But I do know what you're sayng about 'Corporate types'. Bill Clinton (for example) was NOT at the Horseshoe!

But the gig at Mogador is not for 'media types' on the Stones' guest list. It is a private party thrown by an investment banker for his friends.

I know.....I get it. All I'm trying to convey is NEVER GIVE UP. Some amazing things have happened to me with the Stones simply because I've had the courage to TRY. eye popping smiley

Now, if this Mogador thing is totally out of the question....well, that's a real shame. (Hell, I'd try anyway!)

Let's not forget about the SECOND show in Paris the Stones will more than likely do for the fans.

If à second show for fans where could it happen : no mogador, nô olympia, nô casino de Paris, nor bataclan. I havé checked i assume le trianon.

Realistic option ?

Doubt about Le Trianon. If it happens, it will be downtown Paris.

If one was to make a guess based solely on the artistic momentum of the tour so
far, the vibe if you will, then it would seem that the most artistically authentic
choice for the Stones would be to make the banker's gig the one and only warm-up,
with federal reserve type security to keep the riff raff out. Unless of course they
can score a second high-paying totally private gig.

What about the Olympia rumour that was going around? Any chance they may play there again or too big for a warm-up gig? Something like this is more in line for what I would pay $850 for!

La cigale would have also been an option but full...not à lot of possibility.

All of the rumours Ive heard have indicated that it will be somewhere smaller than the Olympia. That venue appears to be pretty much booked solid last I looked (may well be wrong though)

Yes I'd also thought about the Trianon as it's rather popular these days and...available on the 25th.

@damnation - I'm curious, what did they say at Mogador, not surprised but well trained ? stuff like "I have no specific recollection";-)

@midnightranber - in 1995 they announced the place was the Virgin Megastore at 10.00 AM on the radio and I got there just at that time as I was more or less expecting it. I didn't queue up as it did not look very promising.

I went to the Olympia the night of the concert to see how it looked and there were a couple of tickets for sale with the wristband and the asking price seemed crazy, something like 300FF, 50€, hehe...how times have changed!

Hi guys,
Who tried to call the Mogador theatre ?
I did yesterday morning and there was a message saying to give your phone number which I did and that they will call me back later before the end of the day.
Unfortunately, they did not.
I will try tomorrow.
