Extremely high ticket prices. Don't think the ever-competitive Jagger isn't mindful of U2's recent record-breaking worldwide slog--Jagger will not settle for second-biggest tour next time out, and he intends for the Stones to top U2 by taking the highest gross in the shortest possible time frame. So, what to expect in 2013? A DVD that I can afford.

Wont happen. Theres not a prayer they'll top that $750 million gross. It took U2 - a bigger concert draw than the Stones are - over two years and about 110 shows to achieve that.

Especially with a smaller touring schedule. There simply arent enough rich and/or stupid people in the world.

Expect Billy Joel style residencies, with a minimally impressive stage and a stale setlist.

according to bill german, they will tour australia and/or the far east in the spring and then return to north america and europe afterward. from his e-mail today...

"It's highly likely that the Stones will extend their 'tour' into 2013,
visiting the Far East and/or Australia early in the year before heading back
to America and Europe."

They usually don't release vault materials and such during tours that I can remember. First off they wouldn't be available to promote them. Secondly they've pretty much put out the cream by the end of 2012. It still makes you wonder what's in the Stones Archive. 1968 NME's by any chance?

Keep in mind, Gazza, that Bono hurt his back and they had to bump dates. It would have finished considerably earlier if that hadn't happened.

What to expect in 2013?

Keith's guitar turned down and Chuck's piano turned up (treble on 11).

Lots of poses.

What a pity he recovered.
