Hi all, i was at the o2 in london last week and was told the stones dates will be the 25th and 29th of november, ticket prices will be around £375.00 each and there are hardly any low price tickets available due to the promoters paying £25m upfront to the band!!

With the Ticketbastard 'booking fee' it should be a round £500.00 then. If the £375.00 is true, they can stick it, I'm not going.

I can see a dozen act for that price who'll probably play better too. So, that's my choice for this one.

Just thinking its gonna be cheaper to see them at the River Plate, hope they play out in BA again.Still will fork out for two tickets for at least one of the 02 shows.Sure hope they deliver.Feel like we are guinea pigs, whereby they test the water, both for how much they can charge and how well they can deliver.

"Told" by who?

Actually I was expecting a price range of £ 350 - 600 for good seats. Most of the best seats are anyway taken by the sponsors. But mind you the sponsors are having a hard time giving the seats to clients as most of the staff has been strict order not to take any gifts etc.
So at the end their might be some good seats at a decent price. Whatever decent means in that respect.

So far ticketmaster has no news except the seating under "Stones"

Pffffffff...

No Stones gigs for me then...

Where's that news coming from ? A security guy working at the O2 ? The guy selling sandwiches outside the venue ? I don't see why O2 personnel would be informed of details of upcoming gigs, apart from the management which may not necessarily work at the O2 onsite...

But anyway if that turns out to be true they can shove it up theirs, i'm not paying more than £199 for a Stones concert.

I think at this point, its ridiculous to charge over $200 for the best seats, and even thats insane. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Realistically, matched with their peers, I would say top price should be $150. Go down from there. But over $200 for normal seating is just mind boggling. The most I'll pay to see them this tour is $150, if that. Its simply not worth that price if you've seen them before (no one is) despite how much I love them.

I REALLY hope this revelation about ticket prices possibly being up to £375 turn out to be untrue. No matter what the "scarcity" value of a Stones performance in 2012 is if you want to call it that, it's just a gross sum of money for a ticket. Suspect we ain't got long to wait now to find out what the true story is ...

Crisis all over the world and then charge 500s for a concert ticket of a rusty 'band' rehearsing in front of the fans? Never. That ain't gonna work this time. You'll get tickets at the venue right before the gig for much less.

I don't care for the gigs anymore. Been to many and they don't get better.

Well done, you were right. Right dates, right prices. Will be very interested to see how these sell. I can't deny I'd like to be there but I'm not being fleeced like this so I won't be.

well done, Scotty! thumbs up

I'd agree with you (unfortunately) thats its unlikely there'll be many tickets in the 'cheapest' price range.

the whole £95 - £350 talk means nothing really unless the public have a rough breakdown of what percentage are in each price range.

If 80-90% of the tickets were £95 or £166, then fair enough, but its like that theyre going to be very much in the minority.

And you can bet that the lower prices will be held back as 'unavailable' to con you into panic-buying the really extortionate ones.

If the fansites are any barometer, I really find it hard to believe that the wider public will be willing en masse to spend £400 on a mediocre concert ticket (in a country where £100 category A tickets are deemed to be expensive) coming up to Christmas and in a recession. £400 is an average weeks' salary in the UK.

The Stones really are so out of touch with reality its beyond laughable.

This will be a commercial and musical desaster. Only accountants in suits, 1% hardcore fans and every venue not even half sold, and a rusty band, which needs at least 5 gigs in a row to swing.

After the Bigger Bang Tour experience (some terrible shows. Frankfurt was a desaster) I'll pass. I don't expect that these shows are worth that amount of hard earned money. In fact, I don't think that any artist is worth that much.

I'm reall glad I'm an impotent : at 375 a seat had I been able to find a wife and create a family of two an evening with the Stoes could have cost me 375x4 = far too much!

GOD BLESS IMPOTENCY! grinning smiley

Due to the high ticket prices I don't think i'll even bother trying.
